@lionheart

But I can't believe that damn Farage has popped up again.
He’s desperate to appear relevant. Why he hasn’t got the hint after numerous attempts to get himself elected I’ll never know.

This picture always makes me chuckle though 😂

David Lammy summed up Fartage in a nutshell
@DavidLammy
Nigel Farage’s EU salary ran out, Trump is unlikely to remain President & it’s too cold to shout at refugees from Dover.

So now he seeks votes risking lives by opposing public health measures in a pandemic.

There has never been a more shameless opportunist in British politics.

BertieBloopsMum · 02/11/2020 11:42

He's grifting again, as ever. As others have said, his income and relevance has gone away. So he'll be trying to get people to donate to his new "party".

Roussette · 02/11/2020 11:49

Maybe it'll be like Laurence Fox's party... perhaps they can band together and fuck off

Anyway back to Trump...

The White House on lockdown: A federal law enforcement source tells NBC that beginning tomorrow, crews will build a “non-scalable” fence to secure the WH complex, Ellipse and Lafayette Square.

250 National Guardsmen have been put on standby, reporting to Metro Police officials.

I wonder if Trump is actually paranoid?

I keep seeing things about delayed postal ballots and that the result might not be known for a long time, people saying weeks. Is there any truth in that? Surely we'll at least have an idea how it's going on the night (please?)

trafod · 02/11/2020 12:06

@Roussette

EscapeMoney why the NC? No need to NC with us, w're all friendly! I don't think there is one poster on here who is so sure Trump will lose, not one. We hope, but we are definitely not sure. Can't you sense the nervousness? I'm bricking it!

Seeing the footage of miles of Trumpers in their cars blocking highways and bridges everywhere sends shivers up my spine. All encouraged by Trump. From NY to Texas to Colorado. What is the point of that, is it an election tactic, surely it just pisses people off, don't get it.

I’ve never been one for political signs in my yard but I’ve seen a ton of Trump signs and Trump flags while driving around my town. I know a few Republicans, including some family, who don’t like Trump but would never “go against” the party and vote Democrat. Maybe I’m in the minority. I’ve always leaned and voted blue but I don’t feel the need to be defined by a particular political party to the point where I’m blocking roads.

People have mentioned the potential for civil unrest near and post election. I never thought much about it. Now seeing the length that Trump supporters are going to, while being encouraged by him, makes me nervous.

There may be some areas that are too tight to call and may need to wait for postal ballots but I’d imagine that’s more likely to affect the individual congressional races rather than the Presidential race.

I’d like to think we know which way it’s going fairly early on, there’s a lot of EC votes on the east coast and Florida is starting to look like it could go Biden’s way www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-us-2020-54696500

No counting chickens here though. Wouldn’t want to invoke the wrath of the whatever from high atop the thing! (😜)

“If your spirit flags in the last 48 hours of this march, I want you to remember a mantra that has given me comfort these many months: ‘We will vote. He will lose. He will leave,'” he added before concluding, “Make it happen. The stakes are too high to do anything less.”

On the Biden bus harrassment:

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
'In my opinion, these patriots did nothing wrong. Instead, the FBI & Justice should be investigating the terrorists, anarchists, and agitators of ANTIFA, who run around burning down our Democrat run cities and hurting our people!'

Trump knows full well if his voters were suppressed and unheard, they would start a war and tear the whole town up. But they are not so they are like "I don't see what is the problem here? They should behave"

It is. I used to have a vice principal in middle school named Richard. Everyone calls him Dick for short. Seriously, that is his name

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 02/11/2020 14:25

That nickname for Richard goes back a long, long way: Dick Crookback was the king of England in the 1480s.

Mind you, Hitch for Richard is at least as old.

lionheart · 02/11/2020 14:33

Dick is old as old can be. I did not know about Hitch.

President Donald Trump has spent months making false claims in a baseless attempt to raise questions over the integrity of the presidential election.

With Election Day just a day away, it's worth explaining again why the President's anecdotes and assertions are inaccurate. Here's a quick fact check breakdown of 16 of his election-related statements......
