To cook bacon in the oven?

I don't mean under a grill in the oven.

I mean in the oven (electric) on 200° on a grill pan with foil under the wire the bacon is on.

Then I can just get on with other things (making coffee and other breakfast fare) while it slowly cooks.

Am I the only wrongun that cooks bacon in this slightly bizarre and probably non cost effective way?

I sometimes pop halved mushrooms under the rashers too.

We usually cook sausages in the oven but never thought of doing bacon that way. I am going to suggest it to DH as it is usually him that prepares cooked breakfast and he usually leaves a mess on the cooker top.

I put hash browns, sausages in oven to cook, after about 8 mins add bacon. Baked beans go microwave and just eggs fried.

We do this, much less smelly.
