What's the most uncomfortable movie or TV scene you've ever seen?

Uncomfortable can mean anything, scary, sad, creepy, gory etc...

I was just watching AHS this afternoon, the Cult season and there is a scene with a nail gun (if you've seen it you'll know!).

I am really not a squeamish person but this scene just made me go cold, I was about to fast forward it before it finished.

It wasn't even the most gruesome thing I've seen on TV/a movie before but the whole idea just made me feel really uncomfortable and like I was really horrible for watching it if that makes sense?

Geralds Game on netflix, it's the most disturbing thing I've probably ever seen, and I have no problem watching full on horror movies. That was just fucked up.

blue25 · 16/10/2020 18:12

Hostel & Hostel II torture scenes. Really hard to watch. Good films though.

YorkshireParentalPerson · 16/10/2020 18:12

I found the joker film really unsettling, his decent into madness just made me crawl. Thought it was brilliant, probably will not watch it ever again!

Hoctober · 16/10/2020 18:14

The opening scene of Inglourious Basterds, where the Jew Hunter SS officer is questioning the French farmer with the Jewish family hiding under the floor boards beneath them. I just couldn't watch but also couldn't look away. Or breathe!

Sparklesocks · 16/10/2020 18:15

Any graphic sexual assault stuff I find very disturbing. Especially when it feels like the writer has lazily thrown it in there for shock, or to incite sympathy for a female character.

ZSquid · 16/10/2020 18:16

I Tonya. I thought it was going to be quite a funny film, but the way Tonya was treated by her mother made me feel so uncomfortable.

The rape scene in This is England. It's so real, raw and horrifying.

I8toys · 16/10/2020 18:17

This is England 86 - characters father rapes her friend.

Rhubarb01 · 16/10/2020 18:17

The film 'Seven'. Saw it at the cinema when it came out. Will never watch it again.

I8toys · 16/10/2020 18:17

You just beat me to it Clover

Okbye · 16/10/2020 18:18

The rape scene in Boys Don’t Cry.

Watched that movie once and vowed to never ever watch it again.

ShelbyCherryBlossom · 16/10/2020 18:19

Sexual assault scenes, especially on kids. Also decapitated heads, I can cope with gory no problem but the scene in Grimm where Nick opens the box and it's his mum's head inside had me crying and vomming at the same time 🤢

Pieceofpurplesky · 16/10/2020 18:19

I'm with Clover. The rape seem in This Is England.

And the melting bottle in Threads

MissClementine · 16/10/2020 18:20

The people held captive in the basement in The Road. So many scenes in that film I found disturbing. I had to leave the room more than once.

I8toys · 16/10/2020 18:20

Fahrenheit 9/11 - chucking bodies in a bin including children - showed the grim realities of a war that seems so far away.

gypsywater · 16/10/2020 18:20

@Okbye Agree. That scene was harrowing. Its stuck with me all these years later.

Mayorquimby2 · 16/10/2020 18:21

The rape scene in "this is England" tv series is not something I'd be in a rush to see again despite possibly being the best acted scene I've ever seen

AnyFucker · 16/10/2020 18:21

The rape of Trev by Mick. Haunting and so horrifically realistic.

12 years a slave. So many scenes. When he is hanging. When the female slave is being whipped was horrifying.

I was so so upset I couldn't stop crying

TidyDancer · 16/10/2020 18:23

When Glenn met Lucille in The Walking Dead. I still don't think I'm over it tbh.

Beautyoftheirdreams · 16/10/2020 18:23

When the man attacks Veronica Guerin on his doorstep when she turns up to interview him.
Upset me for a long time.
