To suddenly want an alice band?

I have never worn an alice band and always associated them with Sloanes, but I was quite taken with this one worn by Bella Hull on Stand up for Live Comedy last night. Would I be unreasonable to try to find this Alice band?

There's tonnes in H&M

Waveysnail · 13/10/2020 12:47

They are awful. Your woman from little mix looks like a royal princess reject

Fallsballs · 13/10/2020 12:49

I got a lovely mustard velvet one and DD told me I looked like a demented children’s TV presenter.

NoseRinger · 13/10/2020 12:49

She's a comedienne.

I saw her last night, she was funny.

Get one. At least your hair will be off your face.

LagneyandCasey · 13/10/2020 12:51

I haven't worn one since the late 80's but I remember they give me a headache

AriettyHomily · 13/10/2020 12:51

They were everywhere about a year ago, you've missed the boat fashion wise but they are bloody useful.

Excited101 · 13/10/2020 12:51

I lived in them in my school days, splashed out 50p for one in the summer and I love it!

NoseRinger · 13/10/2020 12:52

@Falseballs Harsh, but there are worse looks.

Lots of people wear sunglasses on their heads acting as alice bands and nobody makes fun of that (unless it's raining). I like alice bands! Practical and pretty.

Kanaloa · 13/10/2020 13:03

I like the look of them but hate the pinching feeling behind the ears - primark has loads in at the moment.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 13/10/2020 13:06

I love an Alice band but didn't normally wear one because of mask and glasses I don't have enough space behind my ears ☹️

NoseRinger · 13/10/2020 13:07

@Kanaloa I'll have to watch out for that.

Dillo10 · 13/10/2020 13:08

I recently started wearing them since wfh because it makes me feel more "put together" and means I don't have to do my hair! Do it!

NoseRinger · 13/10/2020 13:15

@Dillo10 👍

They’re great to have in the bathroom to get your hair off your face for makeup/skincare

LittleGwyneth · 13/10/2020 14:18

I have about twenty and I love them. Blair Waldorf's influence lives on.

TeamLannister · 13/10/2020 14:28

They're very in now, my DD isn't the pink unicorn type but was mad to get a pearly one from New Look. It looks like something that fell off Anne Boleyn's headdress but she loves it. 🤷

TheNanny23 · 13/10/2020 14:33

I love them. Katherine Ryan in The Duchess is my new style icon.

I have some headbands that look like a knotted scarf, but they’re not so good with glasses, too much going on around my ears.

Wear what you like.

DelphineWalsh · 13/10/2020 14:35

I prefer smaller/thinner low profile ones usually made of metal sometimes with a flower or a few jewels a bit like a tiara. The big puffy fabric ones make me feel like Anne Boleyn.

TheDuchessofMalfy · 13/10/2020 14:35

I got one, but don’t wear it a lot as a bit self conscious in it.

However I love my hair off my face so should really wear it more!

TheDuchessofMalfy · 13/10/2020 14:36

They do remind me of Anne Boleyn too!

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt · 13/10/2020 14:36

I love them. I recently bought a pack of 12 off Amazon for under a tenner. The knotted style in all different colours and fabrics
