Is it just me? Little things you find oddly satisfying

DH thinks I'm weird for this.

Is it just me though who is oddly satisfied by the lines that get left in your skin after sleep or being still for a while? I've had some really cool ones after a particularly still night's sleep, like the imprint of my foot or hand on my leg for example. I find it oddly fascinating for some reason and always show him!

Or sometimes, a particular pattern or wording on my clothing getting imprinted etc... 🤷‍♀️

I'm not with you on the creases, but I find it ridiculously satisfying to.examine a more strip after it's been on my nose. I know it's grim but I find it fascinating

LizzyBennett · 19/09/2020 23:23

D'oh! Pore strip!

Liveandforget · 19/09/2020 23:41

@LizzyBennett please recommend me your pore strips if they're any good? Tia.

*misses point of thread.

LizzyBennett · 19/09/2020 23:49

No problem @Liveandforget - I use the biore ultra deep strips. I find them great

I cannot tell you the satisfaction I feel at the end of a car journey, when whatever song is on reaches the end at the SAME TIME as the car comes to a stop after parking. It happened so beautifully the other day, it gave me such joy but DH clearly thought I was crackers!

willowmelangell · 20/09/2020 00:07

I've got a herb and spice rack on a turntable, lazy susan type. The satisfaction I get from spinning it around. Lovely.

Making carpet moustaches from taking together the hair that has become embedded in the carpet.
I'm trying not to do it too often as I suspect that our carpet is composed almost entirely of stray hairs and I don't want to get rid of my carpet completely.

Evacuating a blackhead perfectly.
When you reach washing-up zero.
De-pollening a bunch of lilies
Emptying a new packet of something into the kilner jar to fill it up.
Flattening a cardboard box for the recycling.
Clingfilming leftovers after a party.

GachaBread · 20/09/2020 01:16

You know the fluff that collects in the tumble dryer I love to inspect all the cat hairs that get trapped in it. I find it so satisfying each and every time.

MinnieJackson · 20/09/2020 06:46

My fave is washing out the tumble dryer draw aswell Blush I can't wait for winter.

Monty27 · 20/09/2020 06:50

Finishing a pack of something from the store cupboards in the kitchen or a bottle of stuff in the bathroom etc

Mypathtriedtokillme · 20/09/2020 06:53

Full biscuit containers after baking day and all the clean up then sitting down to a hot cup of tea and a fresh biscuit.

Halfpastafreckle · 20/09/2020 06:54

My new one is examining how much dirt and hair my robot vacuum cleaner picks up when he is noodling around - I thought my house was quite clean before - I was 100% wrong

Mypathtriedtokillme · 20/09/2020 06:54

Cleaning out the drain hair catcher bit. Gross but satisfying like the grossest hairball fishing ever.

Halfpastafreckle · 20/09/2020 06:55

@Mypathtriedtokillme interested in biscuit recipes if you have any favs to share

remainin · 20/09/2020 06:57

The sound of a dishwasher in a tidy kitchen.

Redcrayons · 20/09/2020 06:59

Popping the foil on a new jar of coffee.

I’m so with you on that. My adult daughter is the same and we sometimes send each other pics of our used strips and compare. Blush
Also combing nits out of kids hair. Oh how I miss those days. Grin

Filling my car up to a nice round number e.g £30.

pinkyboots1 · 20/09/2020 07:12

I love Mondays when everybody has gone off to work/school/Uni and I can get the house super tidy, all the windows open, Absolute 80's on the radio and it's just me on my own to enjoy it (until they all get home and decimate it)

AmelieTaylor · 20/09/2020 07:14

Pegging out washing on the line, especially matching stuff on a sunny day. I bought a pack of 12 large cotton tea towels to use as hand towels in Feb as they're easier to Soak & sanitise, wash & dry than the regular ones. It gives me particular pleasure to peg these out!

'Tidying' the wardrobe/drawers so like items are together & folded the same etc.

Basically anything that sorts & organises & looks neat.

@Monty27 like you - finishing something & getting a new one out of the 'reserves'.

Snackasaurus · 20/09/2020 07:28

Watching YouTube videos of backs and necks being cracked at the chiropractor. Absolute bliss!

UnfinishedSymphon · 20/09/2020 07:33

Tweezing the dog's grey hairs (don't worry, they come out without pulling), cleaning her ears when they're a bit funky and forking the potato topping of a freshly made cottage pie ready for the oven - I vary the pattern each time

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 20/09/2020 07:51

All three laundry baskets were empty at the same time last week.
I chose to ignore that there were probably dirty socks and other clotho in places other than the laundry baskets!

Betsy86 · 20/09/2020 08:00

@Redcrayons i came on here to write the same thing! I absolutely love breaking the foil on a new jar of coffee. Nobody else I’ve said this to can relate so im glad you’re here😂
