Business Bombshells Uk

Tittie · 16/08/2020 22:35

...the latest MLM to hit the UK and exploit newly unemployed women and other victims of the post-covid recession, launches in September. My Facebook feed is awash with posts about it. There is no focus on the actual products (that part is rather mysterious, it seems to be beauty products); rather, it's all about 'opportunities', 'babes', 'empowering women', 'sisterhood', emojis, and a fuck load of pink. It's all about to change, apparently.

It makes me so angry that these businesses are allowed to run! How is it ok?

I’ve joined just to comment on this thread. A friend has been posting on FB about an AMAZING opportunity for a few days but hasn’t said which company. She finally gave the name Bombshells today but no explanation as to what it is. Definitely giving off some MLM vibes 😭

Helpnamebabyboy · 18/08/2020 14:43

Oh god yes - one of my family members is involved in this and it’s vom worthy. She’s jumped from one of the shit-yourself-coffee MLMs to juice plus and now this all in the last year. Eye roll

Helpnamebabyboy · 18/08/2020 14:45

Oh and despite apparently raking it in with these “amaaaazing buisness opportunities huns” I know for a fact her in-laws are propping her up financially and she’s had a string of unsuccessful part time jobs. It’s all just such utter bullshit.

I have also joined for this! Someone on my FB feed was doing Body Shop, now she appears to be some sort of UK founder and this 'company' have plastered her picture on their page. She genuinely believes this is going to change her life. Previously she would only EVER use Body Shop...now apparently we should only be using this pink trash.

Minimal info on what they actually sell, but apparently the products are AMAZING...she just hasn't tried them yet. Someone asked how much some face mask was and she explained that you can't buy it yet...and you'll be able to buy it in the 'beauty bundle'. I read elsewhere on the internet in the rabbit warren that it is that this beauty box is something like £125.

No thanks hun! But you keep working your business!

Sharpkat · 19/08/2020 19:27

Not had this one yet, but god I hate Arbonne (or whatever they are called). Someone I have on FB but have not seen for 22 years (and we were not really friends then) constantly posts about it and then sends me messages telling me how amazing it is and how I need to buy the products. NO THANK YOU

Tittie · 20/08/2020 13:57

I've recently been made redundant while on mat leave, ripe for exploitation from one of these companies. So it's just a matter of time before one of them approaches me with this amazing opportunity that'll change my life Grin

One lady (she's on her fourth MLM now; not getting the message that few can make it) posted to ask her followers about their beauty regimes, probably so she can push products on them at a later date. Hilariously, the only people to comment were women involved in different MLMs:

'I use Arbonne, hun, would you like a consultation?'
'Only Body Shop for me, did you know I sell these from home?'
'Tropic all the way, I can PM more info about these fab products...'
'Did you know Herbalife do skincare?'

You've got to give it to them, BB seem quite good at marketing. They're doing a good job of making the business look 'disruptive', and like this MLM isn't the same as the others...so I can see how lots are falling for it, even if they've been stung by Juice Plus etc in the past.

Saladd0dger · 20/08/2020 14:00

3 friends have started posting the crap. 😩

M1LL13 · 20/08/2020 14:29

The girl who is the 'founder' has a history with Juice Plus. She is listed as their national
Marketing director and cites herself as the CEO of Business Bombshells in association with Juice Plus. I also don't understand that it's apparently new...but she's been hashtagging and 'hiring' since mid 2018!

I find the world of MLM MENTAL!!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 20/08/2020 14:30

Well it'll make a change from the fucking Body Shop At Home I suppose Hmm

minou123 · 20/08/2020 14:46

I've tried to Google to find out what Bombshell could be, but can't find anything.

So I've decided to start guessing what they will sell and what outrageous claims they will make. Anyone want to join me in this game?

I think they will sell an eyeshadow and it will change your eye colour.
"do you have brown eyes, but always wanted them to be blue?. Look no furher our scientifically proven eyeshadow helps to change your eye colour to the one you've always wanted

PileofToss · 20/08/2020 14:55

Ughhh god. I do a lot of networking for my job and it’s always littered with people who work for MLMs going on about their “amazing hun” products.

Cannot cope with another one!

If only there was some way to ensure they are only ever trying to market to each other, like this, @Tittie!

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 20/08/2020 15:43

Looked at the BB Instagram. What a load of old shite Grin

M1LL13 · 20/08/2020 16:43

Totally true. The only people who comment or other MLMers. They have done a post today all
About why they are NOT an MLM. Ok Hun.

funnylittlefloozie · 20/08/2020 16:49

Theres a totally legit dress company called Bombshell HQ. I love their dresses, i hope they dont get tarred with the same brush.

Is she an Australian lady called Sophie, about 30 years old?
SteveArnottsbeadyeyes · 20/08/2020 17:27

I did a networking meeting yesterday and you breakout into little groups (all done online). Was stuck with two of them from different companies - it was cringe worthy. I asked how lockdown had treated them - and one woman was so competitive saying how she’d smashed her sales targets, was more busy than ever etc
I just sat there gobsmacked... not sure if it even got around to anyone asking me what I do for a living!

M1LL13 · 20/08/2020 17:36

That’s her. She’s actually British but lives in Aus. Pink hair.

Winterwoollies · 20/08/2020 17:38

Run by a woman called Michelle Towle / Michelle Pocock. Look on Companies House at the accounts. Hilarious.

Manolin · 20/08/2020 17:47

That might not be the same company, I suspect there is some link between Sophie and Michelle though.
Jaxhog · 20/08/2020 18:04

Ughhh god. I do a lot of networking for my job and it’s always littered with people who work for MLMs going on about their “amazing hun” products.

I stopped going to some networking groups because there were so many of them. I kept telling them that I already have an Aloe Vera plant, and that is enough for me.

M1LL13 · 20/08/2020 18:23

I dont think michelle towle is the same company...I'm a teacher with school holiday time on my hands and have researched the shit out of this.

They sell beauty products that are vegan, none toxic etc. I'm not entirely sure what it is that they are apparently shaking up in the world of MLM. But apparently that's what they're doing.

It continues to be a bit cryptic but they have started releasing their product. Apparently this week is 'product week'. The reason I know this is because pink appears to be their brand colour and it seems to be spawning all
Over my facebook. Honestly...I keep these MLM folks on my social media for the comedy value. Okaaaaaaay. I'm a terrible person. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tittie · 20/08/2020 19:09

@minou123Grin

Yes it's such a shame that MLMs take over networking events (one of my friends was actually converted to Younique when she was promoting her genuine business at one ). I've even seen them at our local village fairs and things, DH knows to prepare himself for one of my rants when he sees themGrin

I think pps may be right that Michelle Towle/Pocock's company is different (maybe there is a link though), as her products sound a little bit different, and she posted on her LinkedIn about why she started a MLM. As BB posted today, they are definitely not one of those Wink

I used to work in the beauty industry, for a legit business, and admittedly BB haven't given much away about the products yet...but nothing about the ingredients or products looks groundbreaking to me. In fact, my hun friend described some ingredients to be great for acne when actually they're comedogenic.

I don't know why I'm spending so much time looking at it all. Maybe a hun will be along soon to tell me I'm just jealous Smile

Ah I may have libelled Michelle then. 🤭

Tittie · 20/08/2020 20:30

Well wether or not it's the same business, she's still running an MLM so...🤷🏻‍♀️😆
