Where to shop as 33 year old?!

This summer has been a disaster, wardrobe wise.

I literally couldn’t find one nice thing to buy.

I’m a 33 year old married mum of two. Relatively slim and attractive. Very average dress sense.

No matter where I went, I found things were either clearly aimed at size 6 young 20 somethings, or were hideously mumsy and old Confused

Where am I going wrong? I don’t want to dress older than I am not look deluded about my age 😂

Joules, Mint Velvet, Fat Face, New Look, H & M, White Stuff.

Didntwanttochangemyname · 16/08/2020 14:07

I am going to follow your thread closely, I'm a couple of years older than you but totally in the same boat! I've no idea where to shop, I'm stuck in a style rut.

Allyo19 · 16/08/2020 14:13

I've been looking around too. Oliver Bonas has some nice things. Quality seems good too, although i haven't washed much of it yet.

UserFriendly14 · 16/08/2020 14:15

Also following with interest. My taste seems to have changed to M&S of late and I don’t know if that says more about me or them Blush

Gremlin1 · 16/08/2020 14:15

Zara, And Other Stories, Cos

Whynotdance · 16/08/2020 14:16

I buy a mix of warehouse, oasis, h&m etc. i.e. I dress like a teenager. If I had more disposable money I would buy from Reiss.

UrsulaBirkin · 16/08/2020 14:17

And Other Stories is worth a look. People have some mixed feelings about it on here, but you can get some lovely things at Boden. I find them good for pretty tops and knitwear. Joe Browns have some nice dresses. It really depends on your style though as much as anything.

purplecorkheart · 16/08/2020 14:20

Other Stories and Warehouse were my go to places this year.

AgnesNaismith · 16/08/2020 14:20

Hush, Whistles, Jigsaw, Oasis (but their jumpers shrink!), Boden, I find Joules hit and miss and have definitely been tempted by fatface recently, although avoid the heavy prints.

Sakura7 · 16/08/2020 14:20

H&M, Zara, even Primark are good for basics.

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 16/08/2020 14:20

Give up on fashion and go for style and quality. A few good pieces that do you favours are better than a huge wardrobe of cheap tat.

If I had the money I’d be buying MaxMara. As I don’t, I buy things that look like they could be

BitterAndOnlySlightlyTwisted · 16/08/2020 14:23

I rather like frocks from Seasalt and have bought a few in recent years but I’m decades older than you

shinyredbus · 16/08/2020 14:23

Reformation, Zara, Reiss, Fat Face is hit and miss for me (their PJs are nice), Other Stories.

EmotionalFlood · 16/08/2020 14:26

Another vote for Joules. I've spent a ridiculous amount in the online store over lockdown Blush think whole new wardrobe Grin some basic bits are from New Look, Next and M&S!

Baboutheocelot · 16/08/2020 14:26

ASOS, H&M, stories, monki, french connection, mango, Zara.

peachypetite · 16/08/2020 14:27

Mango is one of the best places I’ve found for dresses that aren’t made of fucking polyester

TheHound86 · 16/08/2020 14:28

I'm going to throw in some alternatives as I buy most of my clothes from Lucy & Yak, Bam clothing and Run & Fly. Ive had some bits recently from Seasalt and also a hoodie from TenTree that is gorgeous and I cant wait for it to cool off so I can wear it.

TheHound86 · 16/08/2020 14:28

Oh i am 34

RocketFueler · 16/08/2020 14:29

Yep...mango. Good quality, good price, and the right side of fashion.

ifiwasascent · 16/08/2020 14:29

ASOS was my saviour last year!

Cantaloupeisland · 16/08/2020 14:29

I like the 'surfy' type shops- white stuff, fatface, mistral, seasalt etc. Expensive but I tend to wait for sales. I went in new look recently and it was just full of cheap overly frilly tops and jeans so skinny only a gazelle could fit into them

Bluewavescrashing · 16/08/2020 14:30

Sainsburys, Joules, White Stuff, Dorothy Perkins

RhodaDendron · 16/08/2020 14:30

&other stories, Ganni sales, Whistles

Smellbellina · 16/08/2020 14:31

I did a similar thread just the other week! I ended up getting some new things from H&M (loads of bargains in store), Oasis (ditto), Topshop (which suprised me), Asda and TU at Sainsbury’s.

NoUsername873 · 16/08/2020 14:34

I’m 30 and shop mostly in ASOS, topshop, H&M, zara
