Hi all,

I suffer with Trichotillomania and it can get pretty bad sometimes. My anxiety has been increased since lockdown and this whole awful pandemic. I am home working and feel anxious most days.

I have been trying hard to stop pulling but its been extremely difficult for the last month.
My hair is very thin on top and doesn't feel healthy.

Does anyone have any really amazing recommendations for a great repair and thickening shampoo?

Thank you x

Wash very infrequently and dry shampoo in between. It will give more volume.

OhyeahNoway · 10/06/2020 22:42

Loreal Elvive Fibrology is good for mine.

I hope you can feel better soon Flowers

I use the watermans shampoo and conditioner to9 and have noticed that my fall out is a lot less with it. There is also a serum that you can try. I buy it off amazon too

www.windlelondon.com/shop/fortifying-treatment-shampoo/ And the conditioner that goes with it.

My hair is dreadful and has been for years. I’ve got thyroid problems. I’ve bought so many products over the years that have promised to transform my hair but this is the only one that’s actually worked. After the first wash it looked good and I never got the disappointment I’ve got from other products when they stopped working. I’m never going to win prizes for swishy hair but it looks healthy enough now.

Have to use gloves to stop you’re palms going hairy!

Chewy85 · 11/06/2020 15:46

Another one recommending Watermans. I’ve tried loads and that’s the one that really helped

BarbedBloom · 11/06/2020 15:48

The only one that works for me is aussie mega shampoo. Everything else makes my hair greasy. I have to wash it every day as it is so fine and I am allergic to dry shampoo.

BarbedBloom · 11/06/2020 15:49

Interested in watermans now though

Abraid2 · 11/06/2020 16:39

I like the Living Proof range. The full thickening cream and the spray.

Mnthrowaway20202 · 11/06/2020 17:00

I have been using alpecin shampoo to prevent loss (I don’t pull my hair out) and regaine scalp treatment to encourage new growth

If you can afford it, Virtue shampoo and conditioner is absolutely incredible for building volume. It is the best I have ever used. So expensive though!

FrankieDoyle · 11/06/2020 23:37

Thanks I will def try some of these!

I’ve ordered some of that Waterman’s shampoo/conditioner. It had better be bloody good, the price of it!

FrankieDoyle · 12/06/2020 11:40

How much? It was £13 on Amazon I think

Roots from Lush is good.

Waveysnail · 12/06/2020 12:34

Avoid shampoo with sulphates. In amazed the difference it's made to.my hair

CheerfuIPotato · 12/06/2020 14:36

It’s arrived. The bottles are smaller than I was expecting 🤔

TeamsMakesMeScreams · 12/06/2020 14:51

I’ve also got Phytodensia which is lovely but even more pricey than the Windle one. I bought a large bottle of the Windle so although it was pricey initially it’s good cost per use.
The Phytodensia really makes my hair big .

These are all the products in teeny sizes if you want to try.

The Maui bamboo fiber shampoo is wonderful. It also moisturises hair and is cruelty free/vegan.

Oh and you can buy it in a supermarket!
