Due to a combination of factors including some delicious cold rosé and a takeaway that took TWO HOURS to arrive last night I drank a whole bottle (and a glass 😳). It was spread across 4 hour plus but I slept badly, and feel sick and headachy this morning.

I’ve got the total hangover horrors or ‘hangxiety’ 😫 help me move on with my day

YABU - there’s no excuse to drink too much, you’re a grown woman goddamit
YANBU - these are crazy times, don’t beat yourself up

The vote is 150% YANBU. I think that decides it!

IceniSky · 18/04/2020 09:34

Yes. Work stressful, have an interview next week, had a bottle of red. Feel awful and now I've wasted the day with DD. Head hurts, tired, feel nauseous. Painkillers not working.

Mrsjayy · 18/04/2020 09:35

Wine hangover is the worst ! If you can crawl back into bed this afternoon do that.

newlabelwriter · 18/04/2020 09:37

Yes me! Still in bed with DS and feel rubbish. Very easy to drink more at the moment so you’re not alone. I’m consoling myself with the fact the these are extraordinary times they call for some occasional excess alcohol consumption Grin

Ledkr · 18/04/2020 09:39

Im having a drink every night at the mo and i really need to stop.
Im sleeping badly and waking with a headache as well.
This week i will defo cut right back.Hmm

Mrsjayy · 18/04/2020 09:40

I had half a bottle last night and my head is fuzzy so a half hangover if that is a thing.

Youngatheart00 · 18/04/2020 09:40

Yes I should also point out it followed a busy and stressful work week hunched over a laptop in a less than ideal setting. In fact, the first glass was at 6pm to get me through a final hour (so the +1 glass came before the bottle!) of (obviously unpaid) overtime.

Yep wine hangovers are stomach churning, mind bending horrors. I had planned to go for a run this morning too, that won’t happen now. Tut.

Lockdown is doing nothing for my decision to drink less.

Really difficult to not drink because of boredom!

Youngatheart00 · 18/04/2020 09:43

@Mrsjayy I’d definitely take a half hangover! A decent breakfast and a cup of tea and you’ll be right as rain Smile

(I’m tentatively sipping water in bed and rubbing my bleary eyes)

Strange thing is I read a chapter of my book before going to sleep as I fell asleep with it between me and DH. Going to have to re-read that chapter....

Mrsjayy · 18/04/2020 09:44

@Ledkr I didn't drink at all last week as i had been drinking too much and had to rein it in feel better for it and intend to keep it in check.

Youngatheart00 · 18/04/2020 09:44

@Homestayer you’re right it is the boredom in the evenings and the need to ‘release’ somehow. I’m normally good at just having 1 (large!) glass though but obviously thought I was invincible last night 🙄

tigerbear · 18/04/2020 09:45

Jesus, woman! If you’re already up and awake with a hangover and able to post on MN at 9.30, then I’d say your hangover is perfectly mild!
This time last week, I had the worst hangover of my life and didn’t get out of bed until 5pm!!! So you’re doing fine, don’t worry about it! Smile

DragonMamma · 18/04/2020 09:46

Don’t beat yourself up! I had a dry night but only because I was hungover from the previous night.

As you said, it’s a stressful time and my job is getting more stressful because of the virus so I’m not beating myself up too much.

I’m looking forward to a bottle tonight!

Lots of tea and some toast. If you have any rehydration sachets then take one of those too.

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 18/04/2020 09:48

I’ve given up in wine, the hangovers were just destroying me. I have though discovered gluten free beer and have been glugging them with total abandon.
My recycling situation is a source of shame without a doubt.

Busymum45 · 18/04/2020 09:49

Drinking wine every night in lockdown, had 2 alcohol free nights this WK but it's hard not to pour that glass in the evening!!

TheFuckingDogs · 18/04/2020 09:49

Yep another one here who’s fine today but only cause I was hungover yesterday 🙄 do t beat yourself up, strange times allow for hangovers!

Youngatheart00 · 18/04/2020 09:52

Oh @tigerbear that sounds awful!! I’ve not had one of those horrors since a Xmas party a few years ago.

Thanks for the words of encouragement....tho I’m not exactly up and about (still under the duvet). My eyes are so sore for some reason. Sipping water.....

Thinking maybe I’m still a little tipsy!

Mrsjayy · 18/04/2020 09:53

I have had tea and paracetamol thinking about breakfast but can't decide what to have

Macncheeseballs · 18/04/2020 09:54

'Wine hangovers are the worst', arent all hangovers roughly the same? Isn't it the alcohol?

Samtsirch · 18/04/2020 09:57

After reading some of the posts on mumsnet last night I should think that quite a lot of people are feeling quite delicate this morning 😂😂😂

Mrsjayy · 18/04/2020 09:58

I get a different hangover from wine to spirits maybe it is just me ?

Samtsirch · 18/04/2020 10:00

@Macncheeseballs
I think some people are more affected by some drinks than others, red wine would give me a terrible hangover, yet I can drink vodka until the cows come stumbling home 😀

Youngatheart00 · 18/04/2020 10:14

Yeah I def get ‘different’ hangovers. Wine really throws my stomach off. I’ve just been to the loo and it stank like a farmyard (SORRY tmi 🙈)

Mrsjayy · 18/04/2020 10:17

Wow that is "sharing" 😮Grin

Youngatheart00 · 18/04/2020 10:18
