Hugsgalore · 14/02/2020 13:40

Of course it is. Do you even need to ask?

NatashaRomanov · 14/02/2020 13:40

That is an overreaction, but more details??

ActualHornist · 14/02/2020 13:40

YANBU. I can’t bear the ridiculous overreactions that seem to be commonplace these days.

PurpleDaisies · 14/02/2020 13:41
Confused
mantarays · 14/02/2020 13:41

Erm... I’d say so, yes. Confused

Herpesfreesince03 · 14/02/2020 13:41

Yes. My dd got her first ever detention this week because she accidentally left a book at home. She’s the most obedient child in the world and was absolutely mortified, she was nearly crying when she told me. I felt it was ott but I just replied with ‘that’s a shame, try not to forget it again’.

savethestars · 14/02/2020 13:41

Can I help you purple?

OP posts:
youngestisapsycho · 14/02/2020 13:42

Who screamed it... child, parent, teacher??

JustAnouk · 14/02/2020 13:42

Was this the 13yo or the parent?!?

PurpleDaisies · 14/02/2020 13:43

Huh? I don’t need help thanks.

PhilomenaChristmasPie · 14/02/2020 13:45

DD 12 just shrugs, she's only ever got detentions for really stupid reasons. It just means she's learning not to care about them, or about going to isolation. Is that what secondary schools want? Confused

savethestars · 14/02/2020 13:49

Good just wondered why the confused face

OP posts:
savethestars · 14/02/2020 13:49

Parent screamed it

PhilCornwall1 · 14/02/2020 13:50

Total overreaction!!

If it was the parent, they need to bloody get a grip!! If it was the 13 year old, well, it wouldn't surprise me these days. To be honest, with some parents it wouldn't surprise me either!!

When my eldest got a detention at around that age, he had a right cob on. I asked him what he did, he told me, I called him an idiot and told him to get on with it.

PurpleDaisies · 14/02/2020 13:51

Do you have to pay by the word to post?

You could clearly explain what happened and you might not get any more confused faces.

savethestars · 14/02/2020 13:52

That was why I asked if I could help you as I gathered you were confused about something but since you didn’t tell me what I didn’t know what to say.

OP posts:
PhilCornwall1 · 14/02/2020 13:52

Parent screamed it

Then the parent is a complete snowflake. Great role model for the child.

Tombliwho · 14/02/2020 13:54

They probably wouldn't cope at the Sistine Chapel

namechange1041 · 14/02/2020 13:54

Bet the kid looks comfy in all that bubble wrap eh? Grin

savethestars · 14/02/2020 13:55

Probably not, although I think mostly OK with art and scenes of violence. Just parenting induces screaming fits.

Shinycat · 14/02/2020 13:55

@savethestars

can I help you @PurpleDaisies ?!

If you want sensible comments/posts from people, then you need to give all the information in your opening post, and not drip feed.

drina27 · 14/02/2020 13:56
