I'm exhausted
Work is beyond full on and emotionally draining
DS is driving me to breaking point, we are currently awaiting a hospital appointment as we suspect he has ASC but he is also a typical teen
The dinner I have cooked tastes crap
It just feel utterly overwhelmed
And I've put in half a stone and should have gone for a run and instead I'm in the pub drinking ginn

YABU - but only if you feel guilty and beat yourself up over giving yourself a break. (I'm presuming your child is safe/being looked after/old enough to be left alone etc)

MC68 · 06/02/2020 18:54

It’s ok...just enjoy the gin

aibutohavethisusername · 06/02/2020 18:55

Don’t blame you. Enjoy your gin.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 06/02/2020 18:56

He's old enough to be left but DH is there
Usually I can take life's nonsense but I feel like I have nothing left in energy or patience

It's a day for gin.

Go easy on yourself.

Whatsername177 · 06/02/2020 18:58

Then enjoy your gin. You do not have to justify it. Sometimes, taking 5 minutes to do something to put ourselves first is the only way you get a bit of clarity on how to handle everything.

GreenTulips · 06/02/2020 18:59

I like your style.

Pubs should have a ‘run away mum’ section

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 06/02/2020 19:00

YANBU. You're allowed a break Flowers

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 06/02/2020 19:02

Grin can you imagine what a run away mums section would look like

QueSera · 06/02/2020 19:03

Definitely perfectly understandable. Enjoy the gin, chin chin! Good luck with DS, hope you get the hospital appointment soon x

mbosnz · 06/02/2020 19:03

Have another. Just not so much you're a sobbing mess with a raging headache when you have to face work again tomorrow. . .

I hope things get better soon.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 06/02/2020 19:07

Thanks guys
I know storming off was an over reaction but I just feel lost at the moment
Last year was bloody awful with a horrible load of shit hanging over us
I feel like I should be back to normal now but the exhaustion just won't go away

Everyone needs a bit of time now and again. That’s not a bad thing! Take some time and enjoy your Gin 💐

mbosnz · 06/02/2020 19:15

It takes a while to come back from a year like that, both mentally and physically, and you've clearly still got a lot on your plate currently. Be kind to yourself, and give yourself permission to have a night off! (Hopefully DH either has had one, or can have one himself soon. . .) Gin

airbags · 06/02/2020 19:15

Enjoy that gin and take your time!!! I really like the idea of a "runaway mum" section in the pub - I really want one now!!

Princessfaffalot · 06/02/2020 19:18

It’s ok, enjoy the gin. Today is just one day, tomorrow’s another Flowers

RedWine123 · 06/02/2020 19:19

YANBU. Enjoy :)

GreenTulips · 06/02/2020 19:27

grin can you imagine what a run away mums section would look like

There would be
a ‘fuck off and leave me alone corner’
A quiet corner with chocolates and free gin refills.
The ‘bitch about kids corner’
We could have a crying corner, leading to the gin refill area.
Any others ideas?

Bluetrews25 · 06/02/2020 19:28

Exhaustion and weight gain.... next time you are in the GP ask to check your thyroid levels.
Hope you feel more like you want to be soon.
Have cake too. Cake

Thebishopofbanterbury · 06/02/2020 19:30

How old is your son? Teens are bloody awful even without the added pressures of additional needs that you have. Enjoy your gin guilt free you deserve it.

TheMistressQuickly · 06/02/2020 19:32

I’m keen for a mum pub! X

mbosnz · 06/02/2020 19:33

Me for the 'hiding from the teenagers before I say something I might really regret' section. Pass the bloody wine. . .

JessJonesJumps · 06/02/2020 19:35

Honestly, sometimes life just throws everything at you and I think it's good to realise that and escape in whatever way you can.Enjoy your gin Gin

TheMistressQuickly · 06/02/2020 19:35

And have a double gin hobnob! X

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 06/02/2020 19:36

We need a pub for runaway mums, with all those sections, GreenTulips. No men or children allowed. Just for women who are mothers or mother figures. Though we could also let women who ar carers in too. Basically any woman that is struggling under the weight of being a carer for a child or adult. dreams of sitting drinking gin, venting to other women and not being judged
