I'm exhausted
Work is beyond full on and emotionally draining
DS is driving me to breaking point, we are currently awaiting a hospital appointment as we suspect he has ASC but he is also a typical teen
The dinner I have cooked tastes crap
It just feel utterly overwhelmed
And I've put in half a stone and should have gone for a run and instead I'm in the pub drinking ginn

I’ll join you in the runaway mum section Grin
DD is a stroppy difficult 16 year old right now and testing my patience.

I’ll have a big glass of wine please.

YANBU, we all need a breather sometimes. Enjoy Wine

Basically any woman that is struggling under the weight of being a carer for a child or adult.

Just any woman who is struggling. No other caveats in my section. There shall be plentiful gin, wine, crisps and chocolate.

I think ours does have a runaway mums section. There is always a large group of women of various types in the back bar. Sometimes me and my friends, sometimes the other mums from school, sometimes the mums from the posh school but there’s always a couple of tables.
In fact it’s one of the few pubs I have no problem just going in on my own for a beer.
You should see it when the primary school up the road breaks up. The entire pub is mums with the all the children feral in the garden. They do a roaring trade until the sun goes down. Usually the mums return home, leave the children in the capable hands and go back down again.

Can I come to the mum pub please?

Helpful suggestion. We need it to have rooms (old school pub b&b) so we don’t drink drive. Occasionally we will go for a weekend and refer to it as a retreat, or a week and consider it a working networking event.

This mum pub is sounding better by the second Grin

Been there, done that. Don’t even think about feeling guilty, maybe find a trashy magazine to enjoy with your next gin and relax x
