I love my cats dearly. They're three girls, one black, one white, one tabby. They're all very affectionate with me. But they get so jealous of each other. They won't look at me for ages if I pick one of them up and cuddle her. They growl at each other and they've got nothing to complain about.
They wait until I've put the kids to bed and then, just as I'm sitting down they all come into the room and sit either on me or around my head (i.e. behind me on the sofa cushion.) I can't move. They grumble if I close doors. If I go over the road to buy a pint of milk or some bread they wait for me out the front and call loudly until they see me returning. It's actually embarrassing as we live near the train station, so all the commuters hear them wailing and crying in the morning. I see grown men in suits looking at them with surprise. The kids love them but OMG they're high maintenance. Whichever room I go into, they're circling me, purring, or just waiting for me to sit down. The tabby girl is quite fat, and also sits in front of my television in the evening. I have to watch the picture with her in the middle of it.
AIBU to expect a bit more freedom from my cats? I work hard with the kids, but I swear the cats think they should come first.
