Yes i went on his msn messenger after a stupid row and discovered him talking to mate in horrible bloke way about me - having 'the painters in'... And more oi oi blokey stuff. Are they all still fifteen years old or what? Grr.

Am I the only one who would be annoyed at my DH for discussing my period with his mate, irrespective of how he refers to it?

How is it any of his business??

UnquietDad · 31/08/2007 16:53

The great thing about the Barnsley metaphor is that it offers scope for extension when you need updates - they're in the tunnels, they've kicked off, they're into extra time, etc...

Caroline1852 · 31/08/2007 16:57

They are playing the local Derby tomorrow when best friend with PMT comes to stay.

2shoes · 31/08/2007 16:59

pmsl at "got the painters in"

escape · 31/08/2007 17:01

Can absolutely vouch for the Barnsley one
used loads!

Caroline1852 · 31/08/2007 17:06

Why Barnsley one wonders?
I know someone who thinks that northern women often look like they have heavy periods .

heifer · 31/08/2007 17:07

I would be very miffed

But do have to add, I can not even begin to imagine any circumstance where my DH would tell his friends that I have my period..

Just wouldn't happen..

But he isn't blokey blokey oiky footie type of man anyway but even so..

Does serve you right for going onto his MSN - how would you feel if he went on yours..

would he find comments to your friends about finding his w*nk rag on the floor?.... (and rag isn't a spelling mistake, I do mean rag not mag)...

Rhubarb · 31/08/2007 17:09

Bloody hell, I diss my dh all the time! If he listened in on my conversations and heard summat horrid then I reckon it would serve him right for snooping.

Same goes in this situation I think. If he can't slag you off to his mates what can he do? Bet you slag him off to yours and you wouldn't expect him to snoop in on that would you? Give the guy some privacy!

heifer · 31/08/2007 17:12

rhubard - there is dissing (great fun) and there is telling someone personal stuff..

I would not want my DH telling his mates that I am rag week...

No problem with saying I can't cook, or I am a pain in the neck, but surely after the age of about 20 telling personal stuff to mates is out?

HappyDaddy · 31/08/2007 17:20

You are all such sensitive souls...

heifer · 31/08/2007 17:21

actually I am a sensitive sole....

Caroline1852 · 31/08/2007 17:48

Heifer - agree. But I LOVE hearing about it when other people do it!

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 17:51

What's so personal about menstruating? It isn't likely to come as a shock to his friend that you menstruate, is it?

and breasts being a nasty word? Sometimes I think you are all barking.

heifer · 31/08/2007 17:55

caroline - absolutely agree - have no problem at all hearing about it all...

F&Z - I just don't understand why my DH would need to tell his mate about it - under what circumstances would he.. surely not saying oh my misses is on rag week, so not getting any at the moment! Hell no, surely not, he is a grown man...

Ah, I sometimes forget that my DH is older than some on here (he is 46 and I am 39) so maybe that is it, maybe your DHs are younger, and therefore more prone to teenage chat....

CountessDraculaPI · 31/08/2007 17:57

It's tits and on the blob at Castle Drac

FrannyandZooey · 31/08/2007 18:16

It seemed obvious to me that he would be blaming the argument they had on PMT, or complaining about her being moody

sweetaddict · 31/08/2007 18:18

It wasn't so much the reporting of the 'painters' but the response following it... rephrased: 'oh so you won't be making love to you lovely girlfriend tonight then'..
And yes I am very very ashamed for snooping, and will solemnly promise never to do it again. maybe.

LOL heifer was right

heifer · 31/08/2007 18:21

Can I have that one framed F&Z - I don't often get that on MN....

although to be fair - the response was from DH mate, so DH could have been moaning about PMT etc...

HuwEdwards · 31/08/2007 18:21

It's 'bazoomas' and 'on the blob' here...

sweetaddict · 31/08/2007 18:25

I have Aunty Betty to stay lol. But perhaps she has taken up painting as a sideline..

IdrisTheDragon · 31/08/2007 18:27

Is ours the only MN household where the phrases "breasts" and "having a period" are used?

Have no idea whether DH discusses my periods with anyone else - don't think he does, but it can hardly be that surprising that I have them.

heifer · 31/08/2007 18:29

Boobs and on my period in the heifer house...

AbRoller · 31/08/2007 18:33

boobs/breasts/tits - depends who I'm talking to and period is 'my flowers' No idea where it came from just something we all used as meaning period when we were younger.

pyjamagirl · 31/08/2007 18:44

my house aunt flo visits once a month lol
