Hormonal , emotional , starving pregnant woman here . I’m just over 7 weeks, suffering really bad with nausea and vomiting . Signed off work. It comes in waves and I’m having a ‘safe’ period at the moment . I’m bloody STARVING hungry , my stomach is growling and it genuinely feels empty ,almost hollow . I’ve been living of crisps and the occasional cracker for what must be almost two weeks now . Lost some weight and dr has prescribed me some meds To help the sickness .
Anyway my question is please tell me what to eat !! I’m starving but just don’t know what I want and my mum has rang me and said she’ll get me some bits from the shop as she wants to pop in and see me as she’s been concerned . I’m thinking a sandwich of some sort and maybe some jelly but my god I can’t even think of any foods that exist it’s been so long since I’ve eaten . What would you eat if you were starving but pregnant and nauseas ?
Throw some ideas at me that I can read and I will hopefully fancy one of them ! 😭

Nature valley oat bars, I get a lot of sickness due to medication and these settle me and have oats so some goodness.

Stickybeaksid · 14/01/2020 10:37

I used to drink complan when I was really sick. It’s those shakes you get in boots etc for old people who need nutrition but easy to digest

Lipperfromchipper · 14/01/2020 10:37

Plain chicken in a bread roll did it for me! Maybe a bit of lettuce in it too?

MereDintofPandiculation · 14/01/2020 10:39

I used to eat cheese salad rolls.

GaaaaarlicBread · 14/01/2020 10:39

Thanks ladies ! Great suggestions . @Stickybeaksid I actually used to have complan on prescription due to sickness from medications that caused weight loss , i think it is still prescribed to me On my prescription paper actually so I’ll see if they can dispense some for me

The only thing that helped me with queasyness was hangover food: McDonald’s sausage muffins, Doritos, scotch eggs etc.

Ginger nut biscuits to nibble on, they were my lifesaver when nothing else stayed down. Good luck!

starglass · 14/01/2020 10:56

I lived on cream crackers, breadsticks and potato waffles for weeks, could sometimes manage an apple if I cut it into slices, and actually jelly was another thing that I could eat - plus I think it counts towards fluid intake! Good luck, its miserable!

Mini cheddars

I read on here about drinking flat lemonade; i kept it ice cold and it helped me keep fluids down. I had quite a sweet tooth so brioche and biscuits I could keep down. Beans on toast too funnily enough.

Mrshue · 14/01/2020 11:06

Broth. My mum used to make this amazing chicken bone broth.

I’m vegetarian now and she makes the most awesome vegetable soup!

TheSandgroper · 14/01/2020 11:07

I had half a pineapple for breakfast for the first three months.

EatDessertFirst · 14/01/2020 11:07

Another vote for ginger biscuits here. I think that was about all I could stomach for a looooong time.

Fatasfooook · 14/01/2020 11:08

Baked potato with butter

Neverender · 14/01/2020 11:16

I used to dip jaffa cakes in toffee yoghurt....can you just go and walk around the shop and see what you fancy?

PPopsicle · 14/01/2020 11:17

I second baked potatoes

Theflying19 · 14/01/2020 11:23

Whatever you fancy. I had to eat regular toasted buttered crumpets to get me through...

MereDintofPandiculation · 14/01/2020 12:39

Having seen "jaffa cakes in toffee yogurt" can I offer brussels sprouts in cheese sauce?

RusselHoward · 14/01/2020 12:41

beans on toast?

jannika · 14/01/2020 12:43

Toast, ginger biscuits, cornflakes, pasta with a little bit of butter, rice cakes.

WeirdPookah · 14/01/2020 12:43

I had awful sickness, I ate loads of potatoes in various ways. Plain enough to not make you ill, but tasty enough to enjoy.

inwood · 14/01/2020 12:50

I existed on mash, ready made, home made somehow didn't cut it, sausage and egg McMuffins with no egg and haribo. I couldn't tolerate the thought of anything else.

Beautiful3 · 14/01/2020 12:54

When I had that problem I found that sucking salt and vinegar crisps, and swigging lucazade helped.
