Duck face. Why?

Full disclosure, I'm tired and premenstrual.
There have been a lot more social media posts than usual given the season.
I'm so tired of grown women (and some men) doing that silly pouty duck face look then posting it on SM.
Why?
It looks so bad.
When will people start showing their teeth again?
AIBU to be irrationally raged by these pictures??!

I agree op. A smile lights up a face. A duck face pout looks so insincere. Stupid animal filters are just as bad.

I hate it my cousin is the worst person for it. To make it worse she had lip fillers done and she looks like she is constantly doing it now. Awful.

But I think we need to look at who people do tho... there has got to be self esteem issues.

I was waiting in the pick up point at tesco in the car yesterday morning and there was a young woman (difficult to tell but I guess between 20-25) with a full face of harsh, heavy evening make up on sitting on a bench alone, and for a full 5 mins there was posing, taking selfies, pouting, pointing finger at lips, turning face to get right angle, more pouting, moving hair. Wasn't even discreet about doing it, was totally oblivious to everyone around her.

Duck face is bad but the thing that gets on my nerves the most is those bloody animal noses. It just looks like a blob of shit. That and filtered babies/children. Are they not beautiful as they are?

I actually laugh at some grown women who do it, forgetting that other people have eyes, and they can clearly see the similarities between their "pout" and a stray cats arse!

I hate the filters that change the shape of the face and make the eyes larger.

I have some friends on fb that I wouldn't recognise in real life as they only post pictures with overly filtered effects.

I haven’t seen anyone do duckface in years. Isn’t it all dreamy animal filters still?

My DD's crew (they're all about 15) take picyures that look bad quality deliberately. They frame them badly and use some filters and deliberate lighting techniques that make them look like they were taken on a disposable camera in the 90s. They'd never duckface.

@MiniGuinness it's definitely still a thing unfortunately... Even with adults who have grey hair and wrinkles, so desperate for attention that they're trying (and failing) to act youthful...

It's mostly teen girls who do it, they all look stupid doing it.

All the young women do the pout on instagram which looks unattractive imho opinion but they think it looks sexy ....

I agree- its weird as heck. Do people really think it looks attractive? because it doesnt- it makes you look comical and ridiculous- or like you're doing a Les Dawson impression.
Another one that makes me laugh is the obsession with the snap chat filter with dog ears. Yes, because everyone looks so much more gorgeous with dogs ears and a dog nose dont they? FFS.

I have a FB friend who constantly does this, and now her young daughters are following in her footsteps. There are barely any natural happy pictures of her girls, just these endless peculiar pouts and poses. I guess I should just hide her posts or delete her. I find it really strange, and a bit sad that her children are so self conscious at such a young age.

I follow a blogger she is funny and honest and just generally a good sort then she occasionally does a duck face and I want to slap her about the head just stoppit you look ridiculous, they all look fecking ridiculous!
