Duck face. Why?

Full disclosure, I'm tired and premenstrual.
There have been a lot more social media posts than usual given the season.
I'm so tired of grown women (and some men) doing that silly pouty duck face look then posting it on SM.
Why?
It looks so bad.
When will people start showing their teeth again?
AIBU to be irrationally raged by these pictures??!

I also hate over used filters fine have a "touch up" but know it is time to stop when you look like an alien.

I’ll just leave this here .

Teens don’t do it anymore. The problem is adults who were teens between 2010 and 2015. Nowadays teens want to make their pictures look like they were taken on film.

My ds(15) and niece(15) fb and their friends fb is full of pouting selfies.

A year of so back it was more of the animal noses / big eyes filters, but they seem to have disappeared again.

Be prepared tonight for a load of duckface or animal ears and nose.
Yanbu. It looks stupid, not sexy or cute at all.
My profile pic is me and my 2 adult dc out for Christmas eve all smiling. You can tell we were having fun!

I think there is something fundamentally wrong with the whole culture of taking selfies, filtering, then putting on SM for likes. My friends put together an album for me when i had a significant bday of nights out, loads when we were in our 20s.

I sat down with a cup of tea to look through, fully expecting us to look beautiful, slim, young skin, glossy hair.

What did I see? Nothing magazine worthy, that's for sure. Loads of unposed, unflattering angles, non self conscious unbridled fun. Amazing. And I remembered what a laugh the nights out were.

I'd choose that every time.
