Any docs or nurses here? Can't get to see my gp as currently away until tomorrow evening. Spending the day with family so can't get to a walk in clinic.

Appeared on the underside of my thigh a day after staying at PILs for 4 days to look after GMIL while PIL went away for a few days.

PILs place wasn't very clean so SIL, DH and I gave the whole house a good clean. But now this has appeared and I'm worried I've caught something. It's very sore.

DH has had similar but much smaller itchy spots appear everywhere but are starting to disappear now.

Bed bugs?

inneedofreassurance · 28/12/2019 08:50

Impetigo?

OldMotherHenz · 28/12/2019 08:59

Flea bite?

MoonlightMistletoe · 28/12/2019 09:01

Shingles maybe

MsJaneAusten · 28/12/2019 09:01

I think the fact that the first three posters all said different things shows the problem of online diagnosis. Any chance you can get to a pharmacy today? They’ll probably be able to help identify it and give you relevant treatment.

DoOneAlready · 28/12/2019 09:03

It's not bed bugs, they would be single bites in a line. I've seen, and I think one of us has had something similar.. Racking my old brains to remember.

TheTrollFairy · 28/12/2019 09:03

Do they have animals?
Looks like maybe flea bites but if their house isn’t clean I would look at how to wash/remove bed bugs from yourself before going into your own home (also get tips for your car if you have got one and been in it) I know it sounds extreme but I believe bed bugs can be a nightmare to get rid of but are easily transferred

AgeShallNotWitherHer · 28/12/2019 09:06

Doesn't look like bed bug bites. Looks more like tiny blisters so I would suspect impetigo or shingles but a pharmacist should be able to help

BobblyRash · 28/12/2019 09:16

No animals

That looks like herpes, google some images.

BobblyRash · 28/12/2019 11:29

Isn't herpes an std though? It's on the back of my thigh and definitely haven't slept with anyone other than DH

MoonlightMistletoe · 28/12/2019 11:40

I'm sure herpes is the same virus as chicken pox and shingles.

Other possibilities are scabies and pompholyx.

over50andfab · 28/12/2019 20:33

Pure guess, but insect bites - not bed bugs. I’ve had scabies and that doesn’t look similar. Herpes can happen on other parts of the body to mouth/genitals and someone can show no symptoms for many years.

That said, I’m not qualified. Suggest a pharmacy first - a much underused resource and quicker than seeing a GP. If itching try some antihistamine.

windycuntryside · 28/12/2019 20:35

Go to the Pharmacy tomorrow.

MoonlightMistletoe · 31/12/2019 12:55

Hi OP, I hope you have managed to get a diagnosis and treatment now!

ClairesKimono · 31/12/2019 13:30

Insect bite

Itsjustmee · 31/12/2019 17:39

If it’s lots of little blisters which it looks like it is then It could be herpes

idril · 31/12/2019 17:41

A boil?

BobblyRash · 31/12/2019 18:54

No diagnosis yet, can never get in at the GP and haven't had a moment's chance to call in at a pharmacy. But the blisters had burst the day after this post and it has scabbed over. It's still a bit tender but seems to be healing without any other blisters/rashes appearing anywhere else, so think it may be sorting itself out... hopefully!

Looks like shingles and your update would be consistent with shingles

lovestea · 01/01/2020 01:04

Photo is a ltlle blurry but I would say that that is the start of shingles. Get some anti virals as soon as you can.

justilou1 · 01/01/2020 02:16

Looks either like shingles or a spider bite. Either way, I’d be going to doctor.

justilou1 · 01/01/2020 02:17

Do you feel a bit like you’re coming down with a virus? Or does it feel localized? (Hot, painful, swollen, just in that area...)
