...to ask you to diagnose this

Any docs or nurses here? Can't get to see my gp as currently away until tomorrow evening. Spending the day with family so can't get to a walk in clinic.

Appeared on the underside of my thigh a day after staying at PILs for 4 days to look after GMIL while PIL went away for a few days.

PILs place wasn't very clean so SIL, DH and I gave the whole house a good clean. But now this has appeared and I'm worried I've caught something. It's very sore.

DH has had similar but much smaller itchy spots appear everywhere but are starting to disappear now.

Localised to just that rash, I feel generally fine otherwise.

If your Dh’s spits are clearing up then chances are yourS will go soon, as you said they are similar . Too early to see GP, waste of resources. IMO.

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 01/01/2020 10:50

AAArgh please dont ask for a diagnosis here!

Lilamani · 01/01/2020 10:54

That looks like a spider bite I had once.

CarolinaPink · 01/01/2020 11:04

If there’s any chance it might be shingles then get to the GP ASAP as otherwise you’ll be too late for the thing they can prescribe (antiviral? Not sure).

Howgreenwasmyvalley · 01/01/2020 11:12

My shingles looked like that. I felt perfectly well with no other symptoms.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 01/01/2020 11:13

Go to a GP - honestly, make time somehow. It looks and sounds a lot like shingles and you'll be too late for the antiviral if you leave it.

BobblyRash · 01/01/2020 11:26

I was thinking like AlwaysCheddar that if its clearing up, no other signs, symptoms, blisters or rashes and I'm feeling ok then surely it's a waste of my GPs time..? Is shingles serious?

OP posts:
over50andfab · 01/01/2020 12:41

If it is shingles, you can read about it here OP: www.nhs.uk/conditions/shingles/

Importantly, try to stay away from people with weakened immune systems, very young/ dry old, pregnant women etc.

As said already - try a pharmacist first. They should be able to tell you whether a visit to your GP is needed or not.

Bluerussian · 01/01/2020 12:44

Clean with surgical spirit every day, put some antiseptic ointment on and it will be gone in no time. If it isn't, visit GP but I think it will go.

Bluerussian · 01/01/2020 12:45

PS: Doesn't look like shingles, you'd be a lot more ill with shingles. Stop being so dramatic.

BobblyRash · 02/01/2020 09:56

Stop being so dramatic.

I wasn't being dramatic, not sure where you got that idea? Confused Other posters have merely suggested shingles.

My last post clearly states I think seeing my gp would be a waste of time, that I feel fine, rash/blisters seem to be healing and no other rashes appearing. Not sure how that equates to me being "dramatic"

Weedsnseeds1 · 02/01/2020 12:00

Looks like a spider bite.

Bluerussian · 03/01/2020 23:02

I'm sorry, didn't mean to be rude, Bobblyrash. I was actually smiling when I typed that remark but of course you can't see me.

I hope whatever it is clears up soon.
