AIBU?
The Ingham family

My friend has introduced me to this vlogging family. I have watched a few vlogs of them and regret it.
One was of them giving out 10 pounds to the homeless totally vile, crass, patronising filming vulnerable people etc.
Another was of them receiving loads of plastic tat from fans and finally one of their Christmas eve boxes which is more than most people got on Christmas day. I looked back on their mountain of presents last year. It is just over consumerism plastic tat that will end in land fill. They can't possibly use it all. The kids must be exhausted being performing seals each day.
I won't watch anymore. AIBU or do people actually value watching this? They are obviously making money.

There are loads of these family vloggers.
They’re nearly all like this. Pimping out their kids and milking their fans. The Gardner Quad Squad are the worst.
I admit there is a horrible fascination about them and I need to stop watching them. Maybe that should be my New Year resolution.

Well, you have watched a few of them. You have a friend who recommends them.
Why does your friend watch them?
Why did she recommend it to you?
Why did you care enough to watch?
Why did you watch more than one?
You can answer your own question about people valuing watching them more than I can!

I stopped my young teen daughter watching them after the dad has found grooming teenage girls. Trying to get a 16yr old girl to escape her room late at night to meet him when his wife and kids were asleep.
It was in the papers and all over the internet. I know he hasn’t been found guilty as it was in America while he was on holiday and it came out when they were back in the UK and technically she’s not underage but I don’t know how they have the front to ignore it and carry on pretending like nothing happened.

I do enjoy watching smaller family Vlogs. I love Life with Beans, with is a lovely young Australian family with 6 kids, who are eco conscious with their toys and clothes and diet. It is the mass consumerism and extreme luxury lifestyle I find vulgar with the Ingham's and the Sacconejolies, I'm sure there are others. I can see the appeal of wanting to watch other families rather than soaps, but they become victims of their own success. The present hauls the Inghams do are incredibly OTT, the girls seem really lovely and well mannered though to be fair, particularly the eldest.

I stopped my daughter from watching them, the dad was abroad and was talking to a underage girl and encouraging her to meet him.
I saw the messages the girl put up.
It went all quiet for a while from the inghams, and they disabled comments for a while.
My daughter thought it was normal to pick your kids up from school and whisk them away to a foreign holiday every other week,
They put every thing up about the pregnancy of their son, all like performing monkeys.

I avoid watching any family vloggers, I just don't think it is healthy to watch people who do nothing really but make everyone else feel inadequate. They ppst out ad after ad to their followers and most live quite a fake life. I feel sorry for the children who can't do anything without having a camera shoved in their faces.
ginyogarepeat · 26/12/2019 16:15
I've never heard of any family vloggers so just had a quick look through some of the YouTube videos. Oh my god. I can't get my head around people watching these or in any way finding it aspirational. So sad for their kids too, what a miserable existence.
Angrywife · 26/12/2019 16:21
They weren't filming homeless vulnerable people, they never put the camera on them and if they were on camera from across the road, they were blurred out and unrecognisable.
The girls Chris was talking to were of legal age so he wasn't "grooming young girls"
The rest I agree with but let's stick to accurate facts rather than spouting any old shit to enhance our posts

I’ve also never watched any of these vlogging families, I can’t see the point but I’m not into any social media, I don’t have Facebook or instagram etc.
Just had a quick look on google images, he looks like a slimy toad doesn’t he. Yuck.
mumderland · 26/12/2019 16:35
Strange strange family. I don't see why so many people watch them. Chris is a slimy creep who preys on younger girls, whether they are over 16 or not he shouldn't be messaging them asking them to leave their hotel room. I feel sorry for their kids being on camera day in day out 😔
