The Ingham family

My friend has introduced me to this vlogging family. I have watched a few vlogs of them and regret it.

One was of them giving out 10 pounds to the homeless totally vile, crass, patronising filming vulnerable people etc.

Another was of them receiving loads of plastic tat from fans and finally one of their Christmas eve boxes which is more than most people got on Christmas day. I looked back on their mountain of presents last year. It is just over consumerism plastic tat that will end in land fill. They can't possibly use it all. The kids must be exhausted being performing seals each day.

I won't watch anymore. AIBU or do people actually value watching this? They are obviously making money.

Never heard of them.. Just googled and found the mums Instagram. Over 200k followers so people obviously love this shit! I'm not really familiar with family vloggers but all just seems a bit tacky. I just don't get the appeal. But it's appealing to someone clearly!

They weren't filming homeless vulnerable people, they never put the camera on them and if they were on camera from across the road, they were blurred out and unrecognisable.

That's all right then! Dear me! Despite advice not to give money and their being other ways to help.

And legal! 16 year old is a very fine line and not appropriate. In fact its 18 for people in a position of trust for a reason.

I didn't say it was ok, I said stick to facts.

Hello Sarah

They are a very odd family indeed. I feel for those children.

It must be kids that watch them because they aren’t exactly aspirational, I mean they don’t live in a stunning home or go on fantastic looking holidays or cook lovely food.

plenty of freebies though!!

HairyFloppins · 26/12/2019 19:48

Hello Sarah

Or Jane or Steve?

I can't believe anyone would defend them.

They filmed themselves giving money to people blurred or not. I would not want this invasion of privacy again blurred or not. Crass!

I really take issue with a lot of these parenting bloggers and vloggers. They share so much of their children's life. What about their right to anonymity? Some of these people have millions of followers and they are detailing every aspect of their kids life to strangers. I did used to follow a handful of parenting blogs when my dc were small but they've all branched into vlogging and I don't find it interesting at all.

I find the Ingham Family so interesting. They’re not very intelligent but they created a really successful channel, which has the potential to be really, really big but then they ruined it all for themselves.

I actually quite liked them 3 years ago. They seemed like a nice, normal family doing normal things with vlogs which were very nicely put together.

But then they got successful, bought a ‘posh’ house, the dad gave up work and then of course the allegations of child grooming.

They’ve become really quite dull - they have to go on holiday to give decent content as otherwise it’s all just the mum going to bargain shops, the dad hoovering and the whole family going to their office where they sell merch and baby blankets. There are very few sponsorship deals and the meet and greets have stopped. They’ve been relentlessly attacked by trolls which must be exhausting for them - but they also bring it on themselves with the mum’s ranting and taking their kids out of school regularly for holidays.

I am really, really surprised that their channel has weathered the storm and that they are making enough money from adverts alone. I gather there are some changes to YouTube advertising to children coming in soon which might mean it’s all change again.

I just had a look at their channel and the amount of Christmas gifts the children received is obscene
