Sorry I seem to have posted on wrong thread. No brainscan needed. Can't even work out what went wrong 😂

preparation is everything!

Rubbish.

I winged it and we had loads of fun and dinner on the table by 1:30.

People who plan meticulously are rarely interesting or fun.

Just think how much more fun you’d have had if you’d planned just a bit - a couple of extra veg, another type of stuffing or maybe some properly researched crackers!

Definitely needs therapy. Very weird. X

lisag1969 · 26/12/2019 17:02

Your children couldn't possibly be the most important in your world. There wouldn't be room for all of you. You are the most important person in your world.

lisag1969 · 26/12/2019 17:05

I can't work out if it's a wind up or she's totally deranged. X

You need to make your own crackers. Much more fun.

Remember...Christmas doesn't come in a box

Me neither, but she's the gift that keeps on giving. I'm really enjoying the sheer batshit of this thread!

Why make crackers when people have already made crackers for you to buy.... Do you spin your own cotton or milk your own cows? Hmm

How is extra veg ‘fun’? Grin

Charming Hmm. At least I can hold my head up high knowing that I’m not wasting my life by ricocheting from one random act to another like some on here actually seem proud of!

Sometimes you just need to relax.
Do something mindless.
Imaginative
Creative

What would you rather, a few potatoes and carrots because Christmas dinner was thrown together at the last moment following a mad dash to the corner shop on Christmas Eve, or a carefully selected arrays of “extra special” vegetables following extensive research of the options ordered in October to ensure you’re guaranteed to get what you want? Seriously 😒

Think of everything you’re missing out on by fiddling around with cardboard and ribbons! What a waste of a few hours.

You could be using it to research veg.
Or spending it on MN.

Carefully curating carrots is the new jumping the shark. You should have given up earlier, op.

None whatsoever.

What on earth are "properly researched crackers"? Do explain. I doubt they would have been more fun than the "reindeer ring toss" ones I grabbed on a whim at the checkout in Aldi. No plastic crap in them either.

Why would we want any more veg or stuffing? We were, quite literally, stuffed.

Yeah you are about as serious as a chocolate teapot. Nobody researches veg in October you are trying too hard to be smug and pretentious now.

Oh Lord I have never bought extra special.veg in my life!
I didn't plan everything to the last detail just bought some veg we like. I care not a jot if it's 'traditional' or "speshul" My kids only eat raw veg and I had mine done the way I like them. Not a huge effort to go to tbh not much planning required. Maybe making a roast dinner is difficult for you though that's why you need to plan so much ?
Plus there's only 3 of us we don't need 10 veg and 3 kinds of stuffing on one plate that's just greed!

Oakenbeach · 26/12/2019 17:49

Yes, researching veg means I get the best possible veg available, and I can sit down satisfied no one is having a better vegetables than me.

If I made crackers, I’d have both wasted precious time and have to live with the fact my neighbours’ crackers were very likely better quality than mine.

Grin you get more ridiculous and less believable with every sentence you write.
Vegetables aren’t ‘fun’. Good conversation with nice people around the table is fun.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 26/12/2019 17:51

It wasn't.

a carefully selected arrays of “extra special” vegetables following extensive research of the options ordered in October to ensure you’re guaranteed to get what you want? Seriously

That sounds seriously dull.

But I see from a later post that you don't have a single creative or imaginative bone in your body and don't value those traits at all. I'm so glad my family aren't like that.
