First world problems at Christmas

Some issue with the boiler means we don't have hot water in the kitchen or master bathroom.
It's still working in the main bathroom for now but we've been told that it will go off eventually.
Luckily we have cover and are booked in with an engineer on Sunday.
I know it's nowt in the grand scheme of things but argh!

Oh no! Do you have somewhere to eat tomorrow?

MiseryChops · 24/12/2019 21:30

My first world Xmas problem is that tomorrow should have been bin day but now we will have to wait until Friday for collection and it’s already full to bursting.

hidinginthenightgarden · 24/12/2019 21:31

I guess it’s just the washing up that’s a problem really?

IamFriedSpam · 24/12/2019 21:33

My MiL is lovely but is staying with us for ten days and hasn't stopped talking since she arrived. When I get up in the morning before I've even had a wee she's given me a twenty minute monologue about how she slept and a message she got from her friend who was annoyed with her other friend but really it was all the fault of another friend none of whom I know. She talks through films, comes into our room and talks to us when we're trying to sleep I tried to escape into the bath and she talked to me through the door until DH shooed her away!

We have heating and the dishwasher isn't affected! Just the hot water.

We fell really lucky with that this year. Our cardboard bin went yesterday a day early and our recycling bin went last week along with the black bin (which is three weekly!)

That would drive me insane. My oldest is terrible for that and I have to remind her that we don't all wake as fast as her!
Odd that she's so intent on speaking to you regardless of where you are. Is she always so clingy?

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 25/12/2019 12:02

lifeisgoodagain · 25/12/2019 12:05

Trying to juggle a bf and exdh. Grin. Will the kids tell all ????

iklboodolphrednosedreindeer · 25/12/2019 12:08

You want to hear DH's first world problem to cheer you up. Making breakfast:

'Oh, bloody hell. The English muffins aren't pre-sliced' Grin

I've just realised what a mistake we have made buying dd a drum pad thing. I keep yelling 'who's banging?' Up the stairs only to be told she's not banging, she's drumming Blush

Sorry to hear that. They say things come in 3's..... (who's 'they ' ? Hmm).
3 weeks ago our boiler broke. 5 engineers later and we eventually had to get a new boiler.
2 weeks ago the washing machine was making a ridiculously awful noise and was practically break dancing round the kitchen it was jigging so much - engineer mended it (for now).
THEN last night, put the oven on , the lights tripped and oven is now broken.
The good news? For once, I'm not hosting and we're booked for Christmas lunch at a restaurant- phew! Where's the wine? Wink

Oh @Livebythecoast you've had a shocker.
We had a big issue with the family car just the other week that cost a fortune. My neighbour told me to smash a glass last night to make it three.....

@InAPrettyCabinet - yes, good idea! But don't smash a glass with wine in it - terrible waste Grin.

Merry Christmas Xmas Grin

bedtimestories · 25/12/2019 12:24

My first world problem is lack of batteries!

Schuyler · 25/12/2019 12:26

My first world problem is that my Christmas jumper is dirty because I dropped something on it yesterday and forgot to run it through a wash. Merry Christmas 🎄 x

PonderTweek · 25/12/2019 12:28

Going to MIL's tonight and I didn't pack my toothbrush. I'm actually quite disappointed in myself because this is basic stuff!

Cherrysoup · 25/12/2019 12:29

The cooker hood isn’t extracting. Every time we cook, we need to open the windows and close the door so the smoke alarm doesn’t go off! Annoying as it’s brand new. Apparently the vent is too narrow.

BananaChocolateLump · 25/12/2019 12:34

I've found out ex has been making derogatory and negative comments about me to the kids when he has them, he's picking them up in an hour and I'm not sure I can keep a civil tongue in my head.

But I will because I'm the better person and don't go about slagging him off in front of the children.

Oh and I've decided to stop using my local londis 10 steps away cause one of the owners is a pervy guy who keeps eyeing me up and down and making comments about my backside.

All first world, but my god am I annoyed!

ny20005 · 25/12/2019 12:55

My first world problem is that our general waste bin should have been emptied on Sunday but I didn't notice till yesterday that it wasn't (kids brought it back in full 🙄)

Now have to wait a week for a missed bin collection (if not longer with holidays😩)

Having a Baileys coffee to get over it 🌲🎅

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 25/12/2019 13:10

Baby DD was poorly and in hospital with a feeding tube until yesterday. I clearly over did it on pumping for her, now she's back home & feeding for herself my boobs are exploding. I'm like a big Christmas cow & I daren't change into a nice outfit because I keep leaking all over everything!!
