A&E for heart cramps?

snowyandglowy1 · 23/12/2019 17:48

Hi. I have weird cramps in my heart. Like tightening twinges etc. Been going on for about an hour on and off and some are more painful than others. Should I be worried or no?

Get medical advice, that’s the only advice that anyone online can give you.

Jollitwiglet · 23/12/2019 17:50

Any new kind of chest pain should always be checked out. Plenty of causes that are nothing to worry about, but more sinister causes should always be ruled out

snowyandglowy1 · 23/12/2019 17:52

Don’t want to feel like a time waster cause I’m not like unwell or anything it’s just the odd sharp twinge? Is a&e the right medical place to go or should I wait for gp?

Call 111. They'll tell you if it's A & E worthy.

Hope you fell better soon.

bobbiester · 23/12/2019 17:54

NHS guidance here...

BlueSuffragette · 23/12/2019 17:56

Call 111. Take advice. Don't mess about when it involves your heart. Best wishes.

BanjoStarz · 23/12/2019 18:01

Please go to A&E.

You won’t be wasting any ones time - chest pain is literally the top of the list of things that A&E is definitely for.

ohfourfoxache · 23/12/2019 18:01

Go, now. Please.

Tombliwho · 23/12/2019 18:05

I think 111 will just point you to A&E with chest pains

JustDanceAddict · 23/12/2019 18:06

Def get checked out.,

Tiddlertoddler · 23/12/2019 18:28

111 will definitely advise you to go to A&E, one of the first things they ask is about any chest pains. Hope you are okay x

WorldEndingFire · 23/12/2019 18:33

Don't want to freak you out but I lost a loved one this week to a heart attack. They suspected it and died two days later. Please get checked for peace of mind.

MrsMozartMkII · 23/12/2019 18:34

That sounds like an A&E trip.

porkandbeans · 23/12/2019 18:36

Please get it checked out. You won't be wasting the hospitals time. My DH has a heart attack, a very minor one, a few weeks ago. He thought he was wasting the hospitals time too.

GruciusMalfoy · 23/12/2019 18:37

Please, get checked out. You have a valid reason to seek medical advice.

Emilizz34 · 23/12/2019 18:39

If you have cramp like pain in your heart you need to have some common sense and go to A/E immeadiately . No one on here can be expected to know whether it’s serious or not as it could be anything from a heart attack to a pulled muscle , chostochondritis or indigestion . Go to A/E where they will assess you

ButiLoveHim32 · 23/12/2019 18:51

Why ask any medical advice on the Internet? Why?? Confused

MsMD · 23/12/2019 18:55

Go now.

TotallyDoneWithThis · 23/12/2019 19:18

@ButiLoveHim32 umm, because the op can and did. Your post is pointless and isn’t going to help the op at all Confused

PleaseSirMyGoat · 23/12/2019 19:23

Please ring 111. They will not necessarily tell you to go to a&e with the type of pain you describe but they will assess you and tell you what to do for the best

BarbedBloom · 23/12/2019 19:56

I had this, it turned out to be nothing sinister but at no point was I made to feel unreasonable for going to A and E. In fact, when I left the doctor said to me that just because it was okay that time, please come in if I ever get any other similar pain and not to assume because it was fine last time, it would be fine the next.

tillytoodles1 · 23/12/2019 19:56

My BIL had a minor heart attack last week after ignoring the pain thinking it might be indigestion. Get yourself to the hospital ASAP.

TheTrollFairy · 23/12/2019 19:59

I would go or at the very least call 111 (although I think they’ll send you at A&E (or do you have a walk in clinic?)
They’ll probably stick you on the machine to monitor your heart

NC4this123 · 23/12/2019 20:00

I’d say get checked but I know what you mean, if it’s nothing you feel like you’ve wasted there time! I had similar when I thought I had wind... turned out it was my appendix and was in surgery the next morning woops! Hope all is ok

roiseandjim · 23/12/2019 20:01

I'd go to AnE for that
