As the title says really... What time, when you look at it, do you think 'ah shit, it's late now. Best try to sleep'?

I have a 3 yo DD and work part time. Wake up 7:30 most mornings. After 1am is my 'ah shit, it's late' time. I'm usually up after midnight most nights.

What about you?

I get up at 5:45 and have a child who wakes in the night so 9:30 for me. I have always needed plenty of sleep.

andpancakesforbreakfast · 10/12/2019 18:15

I sleep much better in two blocks weirdly so I often nap for 2-4hrs and then sleep 5-7hrs at night

I wish offices could have a "nap room". I am not being sarcastic, I genuinely believe it's not just pregnant women and unwell people who would benefit!

needsomehelptoday · 10/12/2019 18:15

10pm bedtime 11pm is late.

Usually up around 6.30/7.00

GoodCheer · 10/12/2019 18:15

11pm on a school night.

thecalmorchid · 10/12/2019 18:16

Usually 1.30 -2am! But I sleep in until 8.30 so I'm getting a good 6-7 hours sleep.

Monkeychunkyfunky · 10/12/2019 18:20

Anytime after 10 is my oh fuck it's late I need to go to bed. I'm usually in bed closer to 9 if I'm on earlies and have to get up at 4am.

gamerwidow · 10/12/2019 18:25

Anytime after 10 but I get up at 6. I really notice it if I consistently get less than 8 hours/ night sleep.

MamaFlintstone · 10/12/2019 18:25

I’m generally in bed by 10:15, asleep by 10:45 and 11:00 is “oh shit better put the book away and go to sleep” time. I get up at 6:00. I’d be exhausted if I stayed up till 1:00!

BlueJava · 10/12/2019 18:27

11pm is my "oh crap it's late" time. I usually go to bed around 9:30pm. Update at 6am, leave house at 6:30am for the commute.

bluebeck · 10/12/2019 18:31

Bed at 10pm as I get up at six.

Those of you who stay up until midnight or later, how do you cope with the lack of sleep (assuming you have to get up at a normal time for work/DC) and why do you do it?

Yetanotherwinter · 10/12/2019 19:11

Please tell me I’m not the only one who likes to go to bed at 9pm😖

NoParticularPattern · 10/12/2019 19:14

12 ish. I mean really I’d like to be in bed by 11 at the latest but doesn’t always happen. 12 is always the point that I think “ah man that’s only 5 hours til the kids get up. I’m already tired enough thanks”.

Oblomov19 · 10/12/2019 19:22

I like to go to bed as early as possible. Most nights 9pm. 10 sometimes. I've been known to go to bed at 8, before my teenagers!! I need a lot of sleep. I get up at 6.45 and am in work for 8.

I can easily stay up till 1am if out with friends. But then the next day I need a siesta.

notforonesecond · 10/12/2019 19:38

On weekdays, 10pm is my “oh it’s getting late” time and 11pm is my “oh fuck, should be in bed by now” time - my alarm goes off at 5.20am though.

Weekends I’d probably say 1am.

7dayslater · 10/12/2019 20:00

I go to bed anywhere between 11-1am, depending on how tired I feel. 2-3am is when I think "shit". Have 18 months DS who wakes up at 7am. I used to be a real night owl - not anymore! Grin

Feel knackered most of the day tbh. Until midnight when I perk up and can't get to sleep. It's not the way I choose to be. I'd love to have an on/off switch.

ButterflyBook · 11/12/2019 03:40

There you go. Been in bed since 1am still can't sleep. I was up at 7 this morning and have to up at 7 today. I wish I could be normal and just go to fucking sleep.

itsstillgood · 11/12/2019 04:13

After 10 as any time after 5.30am is considered a lie in. I don't need to be up and have teenagers so can't blame the kids just have an absurd body clock. It doesn't matter what time I go to bed either I always seen to be wide awake around 4-5am

MurrayTheMonk · 11/12/2019 04:16

Now. Bloody bastard insomnia.

BritWifeinUSA · 11/12/2019 04:39

10 pm. I get up at 3.30am. Start work at 5 am.

WriteronaMission · 11/12/2019 05:23

2am is my "oh shit" time. I'm usually up until at least 1am working. I'm up at 7am most mornings. 5 hours is just enough. 6hours is better.

I suffer from insomnia though. Have done since a teen so getting to sleep isn't easy for me anyway.

yellowallpaper · 11/12/2019 10:46

11pm. I'm up at 6.30 most days. It's a luxury to still be awake at midnight.
