As the title says really... What time, when you look at it, do you think 'ah shit, it's late now. Best try to sleep'?

I have a 3 yo DD and work part time. Wake up 7:30 most mornings. After 1am is my 'ah shit, it's late' time. I'm usually up after midnight most nights.

What about you?

I sleep much better in two blocks weirdly so I often nap for 2-4hrs and then sleep 5-7hrs at night

SheSaidHummingbird · 09/12/2019 23:56

My 'oh crap' sweet spot is when the sun begin to rise for the next day and I have to make a decision to get into bed for a token couple of hours or ride it out until the evening.

Booberella9 · 10/12/2019 01:03

9pm
Takes another hour to do everything and actually go to bed and lie down though.

managedmis · 10/12/2019 01:07

10pm.

BestOption · 10/12/2019 01:21

Depends on what’s going on. But mostly it’s about 1am when I sitting on the sofa reading mindless crap on MN becayse I’m too tired to actually go to bed! Then when I get there I’m wide awake again & watch the time tick away until say 5am at which point I figure I might as well get up.

I’d love to be someone who sleeps well. I’d probably choose it as my ‘super power’.

BusterGonad · 10/12/2019 04:12

Okay, I'll rephrase it, I'm astounded if the people that go to bed late actually get up early, but if they go to bed late and get up late than fair play to them.

OhTheRoses · 10/12/2019 04:17

Often asleep by 10ish. Often awake by 4ish :). Probably drop off about 5.30 and rudely awakened by the alarm at 6 :(

marmitedreams · 10/12/2019 04:29

As you posted this at 22.55pm all of the answers so far are from night owls. Unless they are in different time zones.

moomoomummy · 10/12/2019 05:10

in bed at 9.30. Sun comes up at 4.30 , most people are up in gardens/swimming pools by 6.30. Builders start at 6.30 here too. Queensland. If you have a late night, you will still be woken up by hive of activity early on...

Sofast · 10/12/2019 06:26

I like to be in bed by 9, 930 is late for me. I'm up with my kids at 5/530 though

SimonJT · 10/12/2019 06:29

1:30-2am ish, I get up at about 5:45.

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 10/12/2019 06:36

9.30. I am pregnant and have a toddler though. Toddler will be up between 5 and 6.30 depends on the time he falls asleep. If going to work I'm up between 5 and 5.30.

Pre children, "oh shit it's late" was 11 on a work night, 12, 12.30 at the weekend.

Bloodybridget · 10/12/2019 06:42

I'm quite capable of going to bed at 9.30 these days, but wouldn't usually turn the light out before 10.30/11 or later, and I still don't think of that as late. Always awake for an hour or more during the night, and usually up by 7/7.30.

confusedandemployed · 10/12/2019 06:45

Weekdays I'm always in bed by 9.30, earlier sometimes. Asleep by 10latest and up around 6. I need proper sleep! Weekends are very much less rigid.

MurrayTheMonk · 10/12/2019 06:47

10.30

LaLaLanded · 10/12/2019 06:48

I start seriously thinking about bed at 10pm and am usually ready for sleep (washed, in bed) by 11. Used to be able to stay up until 2am easily... sigh...

CountFosco · 10/12/2019 06:48

This was posted after I was asleep last night. In bed at 10pm, then read for a bit. But I'm up at 5am and I'm about to go for a swim.

BusterGonad · 10/12/2019 07:45

I'm in a different time zone 😊

Damntheman · 10/12/2019 12:58

I'm up at 6.45 and my optimum be asleep by time is 11. So 11.30 would be my oh shit too late! panic moment :) I prefer staying up til 1am but I would probably die on that little sleep.

Whattodoabout · 10/12/2019 13:00

On a weekday I need to be in bed by 10:30 latest so I can aim to get a good seven hours sleep.

Weekend I’d say 11:30-midnight is late.

I’m so old now, I used to regularly stay away until 3-4pm and didn’t think twice about it.

Crystal87 · 10/12/2019 18:05

I like to try and be asleep by 11.30 at the latest. I'll usually be in bed from 9.30 though.

Sherrybabyy · 10/12/2019 18:09

1am. Used to be about 4am!

Tiredandgrumpytonight · 10/12/2019 18:11

My bed time is 10pm but I’m rarely sleeping by 11pm these days. Sometimes not till midnight. It’s a bad habit I’ve slipped into recently. It keeps creeping later and later.

andpancakesforbreakfast · 10/12/2019 18:14

When I am tired and have nothing to do.

It doesn't matter if it's too late when I have some work to finish, it still has to be done. My kids have a regular "bed time", adults here don't. Early night if you are tired and you can go to bed, late night when you are not.

misspiggy19 · 10/12/2019 18:14
