Help! Gift for 10 year old girl.

I need to order something by tomorrow, but no idea what! Her dad says she likes clothes and makeup etc, but I don’t want to buy her clothes as I will probably get it wrong and don’t really feel comfortable buying her makeup. What are 10 year old girls into atm? Is there a craze? Or shall I just buy her some makeup?

Stationary is a fairly safe bet, I would say. Something like a pretty notebook and gel pens. Or a voucher.

If it has to be clothes or make-up then I would get a little nail polish set.

Kez0777 · 08/12/2019 20:45

My 10 year old loves clothes and make up but also loves things like LOL dolls. They are always a good gift to buy

Fredy45 · 08/12/2019 21:07

T-shirts can be good as can stationary and general tat.

New David Walliams book?

Isaididont · 08/12/2019 21:09

Nail polish is a good idea, or maybe cosy pyjamas with a picture of a unicorn on them. Everybody loves a unicorn.

HairyToity · 08/12/2019 21:09

Stationery is a good bet. Llamas are popular.

HairyToity · 08/12/2019 21:10

Narwhal are also popular.

GracefulHippo · 08/12/2019 21:13

Amazon voucher? Waterstones voucher?

My 10DD lives stationary, but not all her friends do.

She also loves bath bombs, especially any with things inside...

I don’t allow makeup in general, but an ok with neutral lipstick. Maybe a high end brand lipstick in a neutral tone?

She needs a water bottle for school and has a rainbow coloured one she loves. Really nice water bottle?

MrsLJ2014 · 08/12/2019 21:15

I think pyjamas are a safe bet. I just ordered some nice grey fleecy ones with little stars on (from ASDA) for a 9 year old.

Chickoletta · 08/12/2019 21:18

Anything from Lush or Smiggle. Books/book voucher. PJs.

Cultoffortnite · 08/12/2019 21:20

Games - Mastermind, Kanoodle, Gravity Maze are all great one player games
Backgammon
Books - and a nice book mark
Cinema voucher

There a great website called A Mighty Girl which has really good interesting gifts for girls that can be sorted by age.

Purpleartichoke · 08/12/2019 21:20

Pajamas if you have to get clothes

Scented pens or markers
Thinking putty
Reusable water bottle plus stickers
Fuzzy blankets. I can’t tell you how many Tween girls and boys on my list have asked for fuzzy blankets.

We don’t do toys really anymore.

WhiteWineAndMagnums · 08/12/2019 21:22

Hair chalks went down well recently for my 10 year old DD

runninguphills · 08/12/2019 21:23

My daughters love anything from Lush. Favourate are bath bombs, nice body lotions, lip scrubs etc. I would say that would be a safe bet

5BlueHydrangea · 08/12/2019 21:23

Nail varnish, lip balm, hair accessories maybe? Fluffy notebooks, gel pens, glitter tattoos, or vouchers perhaps - Amazon, Claire's, Primark..

MagentaRocks · 08/12/2019 21:24

What's your budget? I am getting my 11 year old niece a 3d pen. Getting a friend's daughter a secret diary and a messenger bag that you colour in yourself.

MonstranceClock · 08/12/2019 21:30

About 30 quid. She won’t like dolls and things like that. She’s so hard to buy for!

I recently got a friend's daughter a box from 'bookabees'. Although it's a subscription service, I just cancelled it after ordering one (cheaper than buying the one off gift option). She loved it as they printed her name on the box Smile

PositiveVibez · 08/12/2019 21:38

Lush bath bombs definitely. They do a lovely gift box. They are expensive, but she will love it.

Madcats · 08/12/2019 21:39

My daughter is a bit of a sporty/no pink/no blooming unicorns sort of child. Smiggle became very "uncool" by the time she was about 10.

Can you not phone her/email and involve her in the decision?

Amazon tokens go down well.

Whatnowagnes · 08/12/2019 21:39

PJs or vouchers.

Widowodiw · 08/12/2019 21:42

Just go on Claire’s accessories and you will be spoilt for choice.
I ordered a few weeks ago and it was bogof.

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 08/12/2019 21:48

Yy go to Claire’s accessories or lush.

imip · 08/12/2019 21:48

Lush - try slip scrub and some bath bombs. Could do a book also, pjs. I have a 9yo and 11 yo, I brought 4 books for a 10yp party today. Stationary also good!

Vellichor · 08/12/2019 21:52

Bits from body shop or lush? The body shop have a glitter spray in an old fashioned perfume bottle style pump and they also do nice lip balm sets.

AdultHumanWithOvaries · 08/12/2019 21:56

Lego friends would go down well with my 10yo daughter, or anything crafty.
