I need to order something by tomorrow, but no idea what! Her dad says she likes clothes and makeup etc, but I don’t want to buy her clothes as I will probably get it wrong and don’t really feel comfortable buying her makeup. What are 10 year old girls into atm? Is there a craze? Or shall I just buy her some makeup?

My DD at this age would have loved lush bath things, pj's or a primark voucher

Stuckinarut81 · 08/12/2019 21:56

Scrunchies are back and girls that age all seem to love them. I got my dd a bag of 50 of them in all different colours from amazon and she loves being able to coordinate them with what she’s wearing. I think that was only about a tenner so maybe that and some Lush stuff?

Mine loved a felting kit at that age

Anything from Smiggle is popular and anything unicorn. Just looking at my Year 5 class girls they all have a mixture of these.
Something more grown up like perfume might work too.

I think you should aim for something fairly neutral.... a pair of nice pjs is a good shout, maybe with a voucher tucked inside?

doritosdip · 08/12/2019 22:51

A voucher for New Look, Claire's or Lush would probably go down well.

I teach 9/10 year olds and they are all very into their stationery. Gel pens, sharpies, colouring pencils, scented pens, fancy rubbers/sharpeners. That with a decent note book or adult colouring book (adult as in detailed pics not x-rated!) would probably go down well.

My ten year old and all her friends would hate LOL dolls.

They’re all into clothes, make up, Arianna Grande perfume, new look vouchers, scrunchies, etc...

The only ‘toy’ thing my DD has been interested in recently is the ‘Go Glam Nail Stamper’ set which can be found in Argos & Smyths

art supplies!! always art supplies!!

A kawaii subscription box. Cancel after the first one.

It seems young to only be into clothes and makeup but I’d just get her that rather than potentially waste my money.

You could get her some make up brushes, boots have some sets for about £20 and then some lip glosses. My daughter is 10 and I’ve bought her some Boots Natural Collection lip glosses as they’re only £2.50 each and are quite subtle.

My daughter also likes stationery and art supplies, most things in Claire’s 🙄 and anything animal related and most girls her age seem to be into similar.

Thanks everyone. I got her a new handbag, some bath bombs, nail varnishes and a lipstick. Should be happy with that.
