DSD has informed me that (now let me use the correct terminology here), I’m a Scroogy McDuckFace for only wanting to decorate the half of the tree you can see.. in my defence I did suggest the token decoration for the backside..

No other child in the house is offering an opinion, so we’re throwing it out to that ‘mums thing’ I go on.. 🤷🏻‍♀️ You see the dilemma here!

The back side of ours can be seen by the street, but it gets the boring baubles. If it's in a window YABU, if it's against a wall then she is.

I hang the children's home made decorations on the back of the tree so the sun doesn't fade them cos they don't match my beautiful glass baubles but that is all that goes at the back.

@hangingwithnygnomies we have a 6ft tree which we stick into a corner, so we only stick on the branches the half you can see? Does that make sense? Saves a shit lot of hassle haha

If my tree is in the corner I only decorate the bits you see, if it’s at the window, I decorate it all. So I’m with you on that one. What’s the point of decorating the back and no one sees it.

Our tree's always been in the front window so we decorate the whole thing (by we I mean the kids decorate and I watch ), but if it was against a wall I wouldn't make them.

I tried not decorating the back of the tree but it then started it lean as it was too heavy!... all off Start again POPD

I don't even floof out the back of the tree, I want it to take up as little space as possible, definitely not wasting time and decorations on it 😂
I really should've bought a corner tree!

Christmas tree rule is if against a wall it's OK to have a bare backside. If in view of a window then cover it. Rule can apply to lots of things!
