eating roast chicken with fingers - AIBU?

Husband has gone to bed early as we had a big argument over dinner because he was eating his roast chicken with his fingers again.
It was the wings but when he is constantly telling the kids off for their table manners, I don't think getting greasy hands and licking fingers is setting a very good example.

Was I BU to have pulled him up on this?

It’s the only way to eat wings. But he should have done it in the kitchen.

It sounds a bit bossy and petty but maybe im biased cos i love eating with my hands. The kids will learn to eat properly what ever.

How the hell do you eat wings with a knife and fork? I'm not actually a fan of wings but they're so small and fiddly that you'd have problems using cutlery, surely?

How else is he supposed to eat wings?

Have a wet flannel to hand for cleaning up and problem solved?

Wings and legs you eat with your hands. If he was picking apart the breast and eating it with his fingers, I'd agree you had a point.

I always eat with my hands (at home not in a posh restaurant obviously! Lol) DH is clean hands obsessive but we just joke about it...you sound really controlling. Who are you “to pull up” another adult on how they eat.

I was fully prepared to say YANBU until I read it was the wings!

Pizza also with hands. Nothing looks dafter than someone eating pizza with a knife and fork.

Well you obviously have to eat them with your hands (which is why they shouldn't be on a roast dinner...).
