Philip's Lumea

I've read so many threads on here about how amazing the Lumea is that I decided to invest in one.
The Prestige is on offer for £280 on amazon where I am. That's a discount of almost £250
Is that a good price? Should I buy now or is it likely to go down again on Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Thanks

Anyone?

Not sure on when to buy but just a major piece of advice.......

I used to have one but stopped using it when I was pregnant as you arent meant to. What I didnt know is that you need to regularly charge the battery, whether you're going to use it or not, as failing to do so will wreck the battery beyond repair. So mine now no longer works as I didnt know this.

Have you got a boots advantage card? Wait til it’s triple points and get one then! (If you like boots points of course)

LuckyAmy1986 · 17/11/2019 15:11

Oh and use a cashback site

neverknowingwhy · 17/11/2019 15:20

Where have you found the £280 one? I'm waiting for Black Friday deals but still confused about which model to get :-/

CupCupGoose · 17/11/2019 15:22

Go on the website camelcamelcamel which will show you the price drops and rises on amazon for the past year.

Grapefruity · 17/11/2019 15:25

Thanks @Sallyseagull, I'll definitely keep that in mind.
@LuckyAmy1986 I'm not in the UK anymore so no Boots points for me unfortunately
@neverknowingwhy it's on Amazon. Not sure about the UK Amazon price though. Although in the shops here there on sale for about £10 more than that
Thank you @CupCupGoose. I've never heard of that website!

Thanks @CupCupGoose looks from there that it dropped super cheap on Black Friday last year so fingers crossed for same this year

CupCupGoose · 17/11/2019 15:53

It's a really handy website!

Cataline · 17/11/2019 16:02

I was so excited when I first heard about the Lumea then so very disappointed when I realised it wouldn't work on my reddish-blonde body hair Sad

courderoy · 17/11/2019 16:07

Think about getting the corded one not the cordless - stops the recharging problem Sallyseagull noted...

reassureme7600 · 17/11/2019 16:15

I'm selling one for a great price if you're interested!

Jamonfirst · 17/11/2019 16:15

£280 is the best price you'll get the prestige for, I tracked the prices for ages before grabbing it at that price when it was on offer back in the summer. It does work if you're diligent with it, I have PCOS and very fast hair growth and strong facial hair and am just kicking myself that i didn't save up for it sooner, it's changed my life. Good luck!

Sarcasticbutton · 17/11/2019 16:50

I have facial hair issues as in I can grow a convincing beard if I didn’t shave for a week or so. Please tell me if this actually works ?

TheNewSchmoo · 17/11/2019 16:55

I have dark brown hair and formerly a matching tache and daily armpit shave required. It is the best money I have ever spent. Hair free top lop and pits for years now

reassureme7600 · 17/11/2019 16:55

@Grapefruity

reassureme7600 · 17/11/2019 16:57

@neverknowingwhy I'm selling one for £200 :-)

nancyjuice7 · 17/11/2019 16:57

I bought a IPL machine 6 years ago.

Just to comment you have to carry on using it every few months even when the hair is done.
Pain is much less than a wax and the results are great.
I'm fair skinned with brown hair and got results very quickly

Frizzcat · 17/11/2019 17:10

So it only works on strong dark hair and not blonde bum fluff type hair?

wonderstuff · 17/11/2019 17:19

Sounds like a good price. Im very hairy, dark haired and pale skinned, its changed my life, I'm not hair free or anything, but its reduced the amount of time I need to spend defluffing before swimming or wearing shorts from about an hour to less than 20 mins. If I was my hairs break so I get really fast regrowth making that not worth it. Wish I'd had one years ago.

LemonySippet · 17/11/2019 17:31

@Sarcasticbutton yes it really works, as I said I have PCOS so am also very beardy, have to beard remove daily and the lumea works like a charm. It's a magical invention, I luvs it. You have to keep going with it though, it's not just do it for a bit and then you're hair free forever, but it takes me less than ten minutes every fortnight to do my face which is a lot better than up to an hour spent plucking that I used to do everyday Hmm

BananaPeach · 17/11/2019 17:47

I would wait for Black Friday tbh

olivesnutsandcheese · 17/11/2019 18:20

I bought mine last year on black Friday deal. It's so good. But it definitely works best on pale skin and dark hair. I have hair free arm pits now and a very tidy downstairs. Legs aren't as good but that's down to me not using it as much as I should. In winter you need to really work hard on it to get the results, then enjoy them in summer
