Philip's Lumea

I've read so many threads on here about how amazing the Lumea is that I decided to invest in one.
The Prestige is on offer for £280 on amazon where I am. That's a discount of almost £250
Is that a good price? Should I buy now or is it likely to go down again on Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Thanks

Best thing I've ever bought, hands down! Mine was about £300 a few years back, although it's not the Prestige, it's the Advanced.

Ive read somewhere that the prestige is better for facial hair is that true? I suffer from bad facial hair.

rubydoobydoo · 17/11/2019 20:53

I got the Prestige for a similar price on the last Amazon Prime day, not seen it cheaper anywhere. I love it - I'm fair skinned with dark hair and it's even worked on my armpits!

I got the BRI954 and it's brilliant, but you do have to keep up the maintenance (set reminders on your phone, the app isn't great). My top lip, chin and underarms are almost hair-free but i stopped the legs and bikini after summer. The plan is to start up again in the new year so I'm hair free by the time the weather improves.

Thanks everyone! I've bought it Smile
Hopefully my results will be as good as everyone else's 🙏

Let us know how you get on. I'm waiting for black Friday. Hopefully next summer we will be glad of the investment in time and money 🤞

Is it supposed to be better than other cheaper products on the market? What's better about it?

Ginger153 · 22/11/2019 10:10

At last! I've just gone for it and got the advanced as people's comments about battery problems have persuaded me a corded one is better - I know myself well enough to know that I could probably kill one that needed a bit more attention! It was £250 on Boots black Friday promotion, with an extra £40 of advantage points - online only, I think.

I added up how much a spend on waxing in a year and am now wondering why I haven't taken the plunge sooner.

roses2 · 22/11/2019 10:29

Worth every penny - I have brown skin & dark hair. I used to spend every evening plucking thick dark stray hairs from my chin. Now I do pluck fine stray hairs once every six weeks?

Through using the IPL I have learnt there is no such thing as permanent hair removal. New hair will always grow which is why you have to use this regularly like once every other month once you have gone through the initial stage of treating your hair.

roses2 · 22/11/2019 10:30

@isntitapip what's different about it? This one actually works!

honeylulu · 22/11/2019 10:37

I was planning to get one but read some details saying not advised for removal of hair on the inner labia. This was the main reason I wanted one as waxing in that area is soooooo painful! Has anyone with a Lumea done this anyway and how was it?

I am dark haired and fair skinned and responded well to laser treatment (elsewhere on body) if that's relevant.
