NC as this is identifying! But Center parks, penis beaker, cancel the cheque etc.

I’m getting married in two weeks. Quite a few things have gone wrong along the way, including replanning the whole thing at a new venue after the original one had a huge fire a few months ago.

Anyway, this is a small thing.. but one of my five bridesmaids has just told me she lost the wrap I bought for her. They’re probably going to need them on the day as it’s November!
So I went online to buy her another only to find they don’t sell them any more. I can’t seem to find anything similar.

I was wondering if any of you vipers please have one lying around that I can buy off you?
It’s the showcase, silver satin wrap from Dorothy Perkins. Link here: www.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/showcase-silver-satin-wrap-cover-up-8456880

I appreciate this is a small problem but it would look much better if they all match. I’m honestly not a bridezilla Grin

What a lovely thread to wake up to.

I don't think this one is an exact colour match but they have a huge range of different colours so you may find one closer to the others.

Fingers crossed for you S!

Annutumarien · 22/10/2019 08:09

Sorry! didn't realise you'd managed to find one, i should always check the most recent posts before i post, well done to the lady who was able to help 😊

Dyrne · 22/10/2019 08:15

Now the real question is, OP, are you going to trust your bridesmaid with this one or will you give it to her only on the day?

Lots of opportunities to wind her up here - “oh I managed to find one in DP Australia, cost £150 plus £80 p&p but I’m so glad you agreed to cover the cost!”

How long do you reckon you can string it out? Grin

ThanksForAllTheFish · 22/10/2019 08:43

I know you have sources one now, but if anyone has the same issue in the future I was going to suggest taking one of the other wraps to a fabric shop. You can get them to fabric match it for you so you could buy a length of fabric to match. Then it’s just a case of getting someone to hem the edges for you (it’s an easy job as just a big rectangle).

Beebeezed · 22/10/2019 09:36

Ahh I love this!

Weddinghiccup · 22/10/2019 10:04

I am definitely not going to give her this one in advance.
I’ve not even told her I’ve hopefully found a replacement! I’ll let her stew for a bit. She knows I’m not overly happy about it.
Thanks again lovely Mumsnetters.

You’re presumably close if she’s your bridesmaid? Why would you want her to stew? She probably feels awful about it

Yabadee · 29/10/2019 18:20

She knows now. OP received the scarf at the weekend and was seeing the bridesmaid that night so it’s all gravy now.

It matches, not exactly the same but she can use it thankfully.

CravingCheese · 29/10/2019 18:37

Yab

Thanks for the update. Great news!!

FinallyHere · 29/10/2019 20:23

Ahhh, well done @Yabadee

These threads are what MN is all about.

TrishTeres · 30/10/2019 12:56

Wow. I think that second one looks so close!

Congratulations on your forthcoming nuptials. I had a similar"crisis" with my own wrap for my wedding. It might seem a small thing but it really is such a special day.

It was a day I will never forget and 12 years later through uphills and downhills - I am so grateful to have the companionship and love of marriage.

PurpleFrames · 30/10/2019 13:00

I don't have the same one but I have one with tassels from Accessorize if you would like? Will find a link shortly

FizzyGreenWater · 30/10/2019 13:01

Lol at stewing bridesmaid.

How brilliant it has all worked out.

Weddinghiccup · 30/10/2019 14:00

Yes, thanks to @Yabadee she has a wrap and will not freeze to death!
I'm now dealing with all sorts of other wedding issues but hopefully all will be ok on the day.
@Trishteres that's lovely. Hopefully our day will be the start of a similar story.

GrumpyHoonMain · 30/10/2019 14:04

You are really kind. In that situation I would have preferred to have one less bridesmaid lol
