28,751.2

gwenneh · 18/10/2019 11:07

Actually it could be 18,751.2, that first dial hasn’t ticked over to 2 yet!

wineandcheeseplease · 18/10/2019 11:08

28751.2

pinkyredrose · 18/10/2019 11:08

29851

TheBrockmans · 18/10/2019 11:09

I think 28749.2

I think 28749.20

TheBrockmans · 18/10/2019 11:11

Actually yes it is nearly 2 isn't it so 18749.2

Idontwanttotalk · 18/10/2019 11:11

28751.2

Svalberg · 18/10/2019 11:11

18749

You ignore the red dial and go for the lower number - if it were 28xxx then the arm on the 10,000 number would almost be on the 3

slashlover · 18/10/2019 11:11

18749

Because the second number is 8, the fist number must be 1 (will change to 2 when the second number goes to 0). Similarly, fourth number is 4 because last number is 9 (will change to 5 when fifth number goes to 0)

When a dial is really close to a number, you have to look at the number after to see what is should be. If the number is 8 or 9 then it's the lower number, if it's 1 or 2 then it's the higher number. I used to work for Scottish Power and was trained in this.

Yugi · 18/10/2019 11:12

I would say 18751.2 as well. I don't think that first one has ticked over yet.

RockCrushesLizard · 18/10/2019 11:12

18749.2
The main thing is to use the last whole number the needle on the dial has passed. If you imagine a clock at 6:59, the hour hand will look like 7, but when you check the minutes you realise it's not quite.
So the first dial is not 2 yet, because the second dial is at eight, so nearly at two.
And so on!

JonSlow · 18/10/2019 11:12

18749

Yugi · 18/10/2019 11:12

Is this your initial moving in reading? Or do you have a previous one to compare it to?

LoudBatPerson · 18/10/2019 11:12

Sorry I meant 18749.

It is not yet in the 2 for the first dial

IfIHadAPenny · 18/10/2019 11:13

28751.2

What's the last reading?

Idontwanttotalk · 18/10/2019 11:13

Sorry, it's 28749.2.

ritaBx · 18/10/2019 11:13

Argh yes I'm reading the last clock the wrong way. I'm going with 18749 I think

Why are 3 of the dials in a different order from the other 2? Do they turn in different directions?

wowfudge · 18/10/2019 11:14

It's 18749

Unhomme · 18/10/2019 11:15
