Soap in the shower, odd smell

Not really an AIBU, posting for traffic and NC as a little bit of an embarrassing subject!

I read a while back that soap makes you cleaner than shower gel, so I bought imperial leather for armpit washing for my family as my teenager was complaining of washing pits but still smelling.

I know Ph wise it's not quite recommended on intimate areas but I have started to use it 'down there' to keep fresher and I've had no issues on that front otherwise.

I shower regularly and wear liners most days though I'm trying to wean myself off them as wondering if they cause more issues than they help (wearing for extra freshness but read they may cause more, well you know). I've even began with washable liners but I'm not convinced they actually do much protection wise for me.

Basically, when I use this soap in the shower down there , on the first wash there is a wafting smell of ammonia. Not so much on the second wash! Does the soap react with something? I know I don't smell otherwise and if I used shower gel this smell wouldn't come!

I also remember that when my mum and I had been swimming as a kid, we would both squeeze into the one private cubicle shower our pool offered and I remember this smell from her and myself then, I just thought back then it was a lady thing and being about 7 I did used to not wipe so probably did smell as a kid! I completely forgot this smell until it started again with me using soap.

So what I'm wondering, is this a normal soap related thing and does anyone know why or what causes it?? I'm not concerned, more curious!

Oh you are ‘curious’ Hmm

Stop

Gardai · 18/10/2019 09:55

That was a weird read with my toast this morning. I don’t think I’ve encountered a fanny odour reminiscing post before - you ok OP ?

Inebriati · 18/10/2019 09:57

If you smell, see your GP.
There's really not much else to say.

NoParticularPattern · 18/10/2019 10:00

I feel like this is a) the weirdest thing I’ve ever read on here b) a problem to speak to your GP about, not random anonymous usernames on the internet. Go be curious there Hmm

Gardai · 18/10/2019 10:01

OP wants us to discuss foofs for him this morning. Slow clap....

SoFloofy · 18/10/2019 10:03

Is it the bollocks that smell, perhaps?

DogAndCatPerson · 18/10/2019 10:03

Keep your incestuous shower fantasies to yourself, OP.

CandyLeBonBon · 18/10/2019 10:03
Confused
Thehop · 18/10/2019 10:05

So floofy 😂😂

Gardai · 18/10/2019 10:05

His balls smell of ammonia so they do.

JennyCarrots · 18/10/2019 10:07

I'm just here to see how this plays out.

ShitOnIt78 · 18/10/2019 10:08

Christ 😂

AmIThough · 18/10/2019 10:09

If you're making 22 name changes you should stop making bullshit posts.

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 18/10/2019 10:09

🙄 weirdo

Gardai · 18/10/2019 10:10

Ah come on OP - have you slipped on your imperial leather ?

Bezalelle · 18/10/2019 10:13

Filthy skitter.

betternamepending · 18/10/2019 10:15

Yeah you thought that women would discuss this stuff amongst themselves and you wanted some weird wank material.

We don't. Go buy a playboy.

Candymay · 18/10/2019 10:16

Oooh ‘down there’.

I’m getting it now. There was a thread asking people how they spot this type of post about a week ago. It was a good read. I didn’t know there were so many weirdos about. Naive i suppose. Also I understand that no one is to say anything or it’s against terms and conditions of posting or something.

Confused
22NDNC · 18/10/2019 10:22

Ok, for one I don't smell any more than usual and secondly Yes I'm curious, there must be a reason for it.

Appreciate that it is an odd topic and the 'fanny smell reminiscing' post made me laugh!

I do have a problem that we have to act as though our vaginas are always perfectly clean and never produce substances or odours. Why should we be ashamed of normal bodily functions???

You’re the one referring to ‘down there’ and ‘more, well, you know’, rather than using your big boy/girl (delete as applicable) words. Hmm

ghostyslovesheets · 18/10/2019 10:27

If you aren’t bothered why scrub your fanny with soap 😂

22NDNC · 18/10/2019 10:28

Having guven birth to two children i can assure you I am not a man and it is also not my 22nd name change.

Incestuous showering is a disgusting thing to say, a mother and young daughter are committing incest if they share a shower cubicle because it's the only available one? That is a disgusting insinuation.

Going forward, if anyone has any sensible response to my OP I'd love to hear it, otherwise I am not being dragged into an attack and defence situation brought on by assumptions made from one single post.

I challenge you all to but some imperial leather and see if the same happens to you. No need to post about it but when it happens, as I'm sure it will as I suspect it's a chemical reaction, you will realise you're just being an arse.

Wire brush and Dettol

puppyconfetti · 18/10/2019 10:29

Not gonna lie, I can't use coconut shower gel or soap otherwise it makes the fud smell like a dud.
