Me and two friends went away for the weekend on Saturday.
They picked me up at 9am and said giggling they had just been to McDonald's for breakfast.
The McDonald's is only 5 min drive from my house and they didn't think to pick me something up or even pick me up and then go.
They sat in the car park and were late picking me up.
I know it's something not even worth thinking about but it's just a bit meh.

I can't see how I'd get worked up about this. You've obviously a massive fear of missing out. It was a Maccy d breakfast in a car park, not some major event.

I would be annoyed too, especially because they were then late! It wouldn't have taken any extra effort to pick you up first.

I love a McDonalds breakfast so I'd be annoyed too :p It is a bit odd that they wouldn't have asked you if you wanted something/waited till you were there to go. Not the end of the world though

Odd they wouldn't have texted to ask if you wanted something picking up since they went on their way to you. Bit thoughtless perhaps but not a big deal. Don't over think it.

The fact is was McDonalds is irrelevant.. you were all going away for the weekend and they could have messaged you to say 'Hey let's get some breakfast somewhere before we hit the road'

I think you're over-thinking this. You were the last to be picked up, so they left their houses earlier than you. They passed McDs, they grabbed breakfast. No big deal - don't take it personally!

It's not a big thing to get worked up about BUT yes they definitely could have asked if you wanted something or surprised you with something.

I'd find it difficult to be annoyed about it as it's not something I would opt for. However it was thoughtless of them not to at least text and ask if you wanted anything or if you wanted to go with them.

It’s not where the breakfast was, it’s the principle that you weren’t asked either to join or for take out.
