Wiping from front to back. Or not...?

I swear I'm not a poo troll. Or a butt wiping troll.

Just that I've got cystitis and I've been reading up on the causes of cystitis and wiping from back to front causes it so I had a think about what I did.

And I do both 🤨

If it's a poo I wipe from the back. If it's just a wee I wipe from the front.
If I just do a wee, am I supposed to reach around behind me, underneath and all the way across to the front to wipe backwards?

Have I seriously got to nearly 40 and I've been doing it wrong all these years??

For a wee you shouldn't be going anywhere near the back! So front to back doesn't apply. If all your touching is your pubic area to your perinium, have fun wiping any way you want really. Dabbing is probably the most effective, but as long as you are generally clean it's unlikely the bacteria will have any effect

If you are wiping your bum, whether youve actually been for a poo or not, the toilet paper you have just used should never then touch any other areas.

Again, to avoid any confusion I wipe the from with my arm across the front of my body and between my thighs, and the back with my arm across by back and in between the buttocks.

Finally, you can get a UTI in many different ways, and although faecal matter in the urethra increases the chances, it does not mean infection is guaranteed. So if you do or don't get UTIs, it might not even necessarily be related to your your wiping style as an individual - there are many other factors. Best advice is keep clean using water and gentle soap, drink plenty of water, per after sex and wipe front to back.

Even if you're just wiping from the perineum? Agree it's impossible from any further forward.

Nope. I reach from behind for wiping front and back.

Or, rather, I lift up my left buttock/leg and wipe from the front to the back that way.

Like a pp, just 'dabbing' at my urethra area for wee would not be enough. It needs a wide wipe.
Then I do the back.

By the way, those who say they can just wipe the front so it doesn't matter if they go back to front - you know bacteria move around?

I've just been to the toilet and can confirm, I dive between my thighs from the front, bypass all things fanjo and wipe my actual bum hole with a CIRCULAR motion, neither F2B or B2F!
