To ask how much longer I have to wait...

Currently sat at the hairdressers (never been here before) my appointment was 15 mins ago and I'm still waiting. Wondering how much longer I should wait before I ask how much longer the wait will be? Don't want to come across as rude or impatient... haven't been acknowledged other than to 'take a seat' in the waiting room. A lady has talked in after me and they offered her a drink straight away! Thoughts please, what would you guys do?

I would speak to them, politely. Explain you have another appointment, a train to catch, a DC to pick up from childminders...

BogglesGoggles · 05/09/2019 17:10

Ask now. If they were running late they really should have told you when you came in.

popsadaisy · 05/09/2019 17:12

Update: she came over and said sorry she didn't even realise I was here and then asked if I want a dry cut? I said no wet cut (what I was booked in for) then she started washing my hair and said 'do you want me to blow dry it?' I said yes please. Then she said I have a treatment and colour to wash off so do you mind waiting? And I was like ummm yes ok then... now I'm sat here with wet hair waiting 🙁 I don't have enough balls do I?! Pretty annoyed though.

That’s crap. Let them know. Get a discount.

popsadaisy · 05/09/2019 17:18

She's now blow drying her hair Angry seriously pissed off now I'm gonna be here ages

OP posts:
popsadaisy · 05/09/2019 17:20

Her hair is really long as well Angry

I’d want to say something but probably wouldn’t. In fact I’d want to walk out

postmanwatcher · 05/09/2019 17:22

That's really poor! I think you should complain but I know I have been in this position and said nothing. Just not gone back. Stay calm op

Me2you3 · 05/09/2019 17:27

I would let her do your hair (as you want it done), and then go up to the desk and say "I presume there won't be a charge on this?

Go on, you can do it! They've messed up your whole afternoon, and to be honest I probably wouldn't go back

RushianDisney · 05/09/2019 17:28

You need to woman up and assert yourself. Not ok to be waiting with sopping wet hair because they have overbooked. Not to mention leaving you waiting for so long at the beginning. Complain, as you are totally entitled to do.

popsadaisy · 05/09/2019 17:30

45 mins and still waiting!! Surely they will offer a discount to apologise?!

OP posts:
Brooksay · 05/09/2019 17:31

Walk out, don't book there again. Really quite simple.

BeepBeeeep · 05/09/2019 17:33

I would have got up and walked out before they even started on my hair...and told them why.

Contraceptionismyfriend · 05/09/2019 17:35

This is ridiculous. I'd walk out and leave some reviews later on google and their Facebook.

popsadaisy · 05/09/2019 17:36

Surely she should have explained the situation to me apologised and given me the choice of whether or not I wanted to wait?

OP posts:
Drabarni · 05/09/2019 17:36

walk out but not before telling them you don't mind a wait but their service is terrible. Then get to social media.

Drabarni · 05/09/2019 17:37

For God's sake go home.

PoppyFleur · 05/09/2019 17:38

No they will not offer a discount. Because they rely on people being too intimidated to complain. Politely and calmly state step by step what you have said here and ask them if this is their definition of good service.
Then say nothing further and wait for a response.

The4ks · 05/09/2019 17:42

I hate this, flitting between customers. So annoying!!
I turned up on time for an appointment once and my hairdresser said 'ill just be 5 minutes, got to pop home for more towels!'
I was a bit wtf but of course I waited (over 10 minutes) for her to come back!

hopeishere · 05/09/2019 17:49

It's so annoying. Obviated ok to do something else while a colour is on for example but 45 minutes- your hair list practically be dry!!

Is she drying her own hair ConfusedShock that's outrageous.

Get up, and leave.

Burlea · 05/09/2019 17:57

Ask loudly why you are sitting with wet (now dry) hair.

Teensruletheroost · 05/09/2019 18:10

Hope she’s doing your hair now??

iamruth · 05/09/2019 18:20

I really hope you’ve left and are intending to leave a review to say why
