To ask how much longer I have to wait...

Currently sat at the hairdressers (never been here before) my appointment was 15 mins ago and I'm still waiting. Wondering how much longer I should wait before I ask how much longer the wait will be? Don't want to come across as rude or impatient... haven't been acknowledged other than to 'take a seat' in the waiting room. A lady has talked in after me and they offered her a drink straight away! Thoughts please, what would you guys do?

Complain

Leave a review but be to the point, not opinionated

Tonnerre · 05/09/2019 18:25

Has it been done, OP?

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 05/09/2019 18:28

Id have left and I’m soft

Jayaywhynot · 05/09/2019 18:39

Pick up the nearest hairdryer, dry your hair off, go to reception and complain then leave, I'd be fuming

ShirleyPhallus · 05/09/2019 18:43

I wouldn’t just walk off but I would ask her how long this would take and explain that I had other commitments

Kirstyhewlett2018 · 05/09/2019 18:51

I'd get up and leave! How rude!

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 05/09/2019 19:17

What happened did you leave?

popsadaisy · 05/09/2019 20:41

Sorry guys I was half way through giving you another update and she came over and FINALLY did my hair. I am semi proud of myself though I wasn't quite brave enough to walk out but she finally finished blow drying this ladies hair and then said to her 'would you like me to straighten it now?' And this lady hmmm and arrr'd and finally said 'oh yes go on then' I thought bugger this so I turned around and said 'how much longer are you going to be I've been waiting here an hour now!' She said 'what time did you get here?!' (In a shocked tone) I said 4.45 and then she said 'well sorry but I didn't realise you were here until 5pm so that's why and I'm only going to be 5 mins now'. She discounted me £5 but the cut still cost £25. I definitely won't be returning. Oh and half way through the cut the lady I spoke to when I first walked in came over and apologised to me and said it was all her fault as she hadn't told the girl that was doing my hair I had arrived. Very awkward situation and I just hate being in confrontational situations, really wish I could stick up for myself more!

Good for you for saying something. More than what I would of said!

NearlyGranny · 05/09/2019 21:24

Walked out of one salon - with wet hair! - 45 minutes after appointment time. Never went back.

envelopeofpubes · 05/09/2019 21:29

That’s nuts. So she thought it was acceptable to keep you waiting 45 minutes, then?? I’d leave an honest review.

Mishappening · 05/09/2019 21:29

This is why my hair is long - I hate being in thrall to hairdressers who seem to do just what they want - even if it is not what I want. Grrr.
