I suspect I may be.

I'm definitely dumping Ecotricity. I was willing to pay a bit more because they seemed mildly competent. But no, now they're randomly losing my readings, and frankly if I'm going to have hassle I could get it cheaper.

So. Your recommendations please!

I've previously binned EDF.

Scottish Power have been in the headlines for years for all the wrong reasons.

Bulb? Seen promotions on here – anyone had good/bad experiences?

Any others?

I've recently switched to Octopus. Very happy with them so far. They have good customer services reviews and prices are competitive. Also I love their cute little octopus logo Smile

I've been with Octopus as well, for about a year and a half. No problems so far, everything is very clear.

Been with Bulb for about two years, never had a problem. Co-Op and EDF were both a bloody nightmare.

I’m with Tonik energy. No problems and when I have had to call there hasn’t been a call queue and the people I speak to make sense.

Bulb, easy to maintain payments and readings online monthly.
I can even put a customer recommendation code for you if you wish? We can both get £50!
I have used all the main suppliers in the past and detested their customer service.

I’ve had to email bulb over a couple of things and they have replied to me within the day! Fabulous service.

I was going to jump on and say Octopus too, but afraid it will be a hostage to fortune... I can only say that in the 4 or so months I've been with them nothing bad has happened yet. If you love your smart meter they won't suit you, whilst if you have taken the solemn oath never to let one of those things in your house they will suit you very well!

SEE, who I was with previously, were OK but expensive.

Just switched to Bulb on the recommendation of my dsis. Dumped Scottish Power because they are arseholes (who still owe me money Angry). Bulb seem fine so far.

Another vote for Bulb, although noticed that Octopus is slightly cheaper for gas now, so will move gas to them and keep elec with Bulb.

I'm with Octopus, have 2 smart meters and am on their renewable tariff. I've had no problems in over a year.

I'm with Boost who used to be OVO and so far they're great. Never had an issue in all the years I've been with them. It's payg and can simply top up on my mobile in seconds.

Scottish Power on the other hand? I'm a grown woman in her late thirties and they actually reduced me to tears. We spent days with no electric or gas, we paid back huge chunks of previous tenants debts despite us calling them multiple times a day and them assuring us the meters were reset and we should just top up again and we'd be refunded. It didn't happen. The machines took the money as debt again and left us without, they then chased us for hundreds of pound of debt for the next year that they verbally acknowledged wasn't right every time we phoned as we were with them for less than 20 days (cos of the pissing about and lack of leccy and gas) and prepayment anyway. We even got bailiffs letters. Fucking stupid company.

We've been with Bulb for a couple of years and generally been happy with them, but... we moved house recently and ended up with no electricity one evening (previous owner on a key, the meter ran out while we were at work, the new key Bulb had sent us didn't work) and it was then that we discovered that they have no out of hours customer service.

In the end it was fine (Siemens emergency team came out and put us on a credit meter to restore our power which is what I was after anyway!) but be aware. They're fine but might be unavailable when you really really need them...

Found Bulb fine, now with Octopus and it’s not been long but best I’ve ever had! Excellent customer service and all renewable.

Found Avro shit, I’d avoid them.
