I suspect I may be.

I'm definitely dumping Ecotricity. I was willing to pay a bit more because they seemed mildly competent. But no, now they're randomly losing my readings, and frankly if I'm going to have hassle I could get it cheaper.

So. Your recommendations please!

I've previously binned EDF.

Scottish Power have been in the headlines for years for all the wrong reasons.

Bulb? Seen promotions on here – anyone had good/bad experiences?

Any others?

Forgot to say, I think Which? ranks Octopus and Utility Warehouse highest among energy providers.

Don't go with Shell Energy. We've had a right saga to do with estimated readings, not helped by the fact that DP has to be nagged half to death to read our stupidly inaccessible meter.

At one point, they used such an outrageous estimate that they decided they'd undercharged us to the tune of £3k+ and put our monthly payments up to £345. We submitted readings for 2 consecutive months and they didn't act on them, and the 3rd time, they adjusted the bill and gave us a £1,900 credit, but failed to revise the DD.

They finally reduced the payments to £113 a couple of months ago, we submitted readings again last month, but they only used the gas reading and estimated the electricity one again.

And you cannot talk to anyone on the phone, it's a waste of time trying.

We've been trying to get smart meters, but they're not installing them because of Covid.
