And to boycott Spain until they stop this barbaric practice? My friend who is Spanish said she understood why outsiders find it disgusting but it is part of their male culture. If the Spanish want to fight a bull do it one on one without swords and without the bull bleeding to death prior to getting into the ring. AIBU?

I have never met a Spaniard in favour of it. It has already been outlawed in Cataluña. I think its days are numbered.

Every year I read about one or two men getting gorged to death on the Spanish Bull Festival. Usually young men and often fathers . I feel nothing but anger for these men. WTF are you doing running in front of injured/scared bulls for fun?

It’s awful and I would never go to a bullfight, it would be great if it were banned but it’s such an integral part of the Spanish culture (and big business too) I can’t see it happening.

I actually know a lot of Spanish people who are in favour of it, but they are from a region well known for it, and even the ones who isn’t like it and wouldn’t go see it as especially terrible unfortunately

There’s a slight difference between animals raised and slaughtered for food, and a spectator sport where animals are tortured for fun.

X post! The slaughterhouse next to me kills 10,000 chickens every hour and 9,000 pigs a day. It runs 24/7. This is one of the greatest social injustices of our time.

@BobLobLawLLB People are such slaves to thier taste buds they don't really care. They love animals!... Until they taste good. But if they want to ingest antibiotics, hormones and pus milk then that's thier choice.
