...and it is waffle. Those wafery things just absorb moisture, go soggy, and taste of sadness. Waffle cones are tasty, stay crisp, come dipped in chocolate and get eaten by sexier more beautiful people.

Nooooooooooooooo. I loathe and despise waffle cones. Overly crunchy bastards. I can just about accept them on a "cornetto" style ice cream, although I bought some for the freezer this week and all of the cones are soft and floppy.

Incorrectly stored cones are an issue. It's not the cone's fault.

Waffle cones are great but NOT with chocolate and/or sprinkles on.

Waffle cones too sweet. When I was a child, some of the other sort had a square shaped top, to fit a standard small block of ice cream or a bit cut from a larger block (both now vanished).

I don't like really ice cream but have been known to eat cones of it in hot weather. The only way it's tolerable is in a choc-dipped waffle cone with a flake stuffed in it.

Just came back to type very similar. Not a fan of ice-cream but a toffee dipped waffle cone makes it tolerable.

I admit there is a positive nostalgia element to wafer cones, like powdered eggs, Spangles, and wetting yourself in Woolworths. They bring back memories of childhood. Time moves on though. Waffle cones are the future.

And does anyone remember rectangular wafers? You would make a kind of ice cream sandwich with two wafers and the aforementioned blocks of ice cream. Very tricky to eat as the ice cream got squeezed out as you ate it, and it got worse as it melted.

You are absolutely not being unreasonable. Waffle all the way. Wafer cones don't taste natural. They also taste like something that has gone off. Nasty.

Dd2 discovered waffle cones on our holiday last week. She will not go back to wafer cones. She decrees that the best cones ever are waffle cones with chocolate and blue sprinkles.

I think the seagulls agreed with her as they stole my ice cream twice!!! Both were in the waffle cones with blue sprinkles.
