I feel quite sad thinking this, it used to be so busy and enlightening. It just feels so crap and irrelevant now.

A mix of completely banal questions, troll fodder and behind the curve discourse 😬

OP posts:
Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 13/08/2019 03:28

Eh? I don't understand the question 🤔

Havalina · 13/08/2019 03:29

Which part are you having difficulty with?

OP posts:
Alicewond · 13/08/2019 03:31

This question feels a bit crap and irrelevant now tbh

Havalina · 13/08/2019 03:31

Yet you answered

I think you might be right. For years AIBU was the first board I went to but now I just look at Active. It's a broader range of topics and more informative, plus I'm likely to post replies to nonAIBU threads.

I thought the quality of AIBU had declined, or maybe I had outgrown it.

NiteWotcha · 13/08/2019 03:44

I think NameChange was wondering what you mean by forum?

you mean the AIBU board?
Or MN in general? (I would use site, rather than forum)

I always look at Active (both as a NWer and as a civvie)

Alicewond · 13/08/2019 03:54

@Havalina anyone can search your history of chats here

IdaBWells · 13/08/2019 04:59

MN in general is still very relevant, it’s one of the only places we can come and discuss protecting women’s rights for a start. As for AIBU, I can take it or leave it.

cantfindname · 13/08/2019 05:33

It changes from day to day. Summer hols are often a bit repetitive.. but hey, that's how life is.

Jemima232 · 13/08/2019 05:37

I don't agree with you.

MN is a relevant place for women to give and receive support.

It is also frequently very humorous.

I can always find something with which to occupy myself.

I like the feminist boards.

CupoTeap · 13/08/2019 06:10

Whereas THIS is Hmm

tomtom1999xx · 13/08/2019 06:25

I think if you’ve been here a long time you just grow out of it as it becomes less relevant to you ( dc grow up etc )

pictish · 13/08/2019 06:26

Jumped the shark? Never heard that expression.
I don’t think it has changed in the slightest...I think you’ve grown bored of it.

Booboostwo · 13/08/2019 06:26

It seems to me to be a lot quieter than it used to be over all the boards.

pictish · 13/08/2019 06:27

I’ve been posting here for years btw.

LaMarschallin · 13/08/2019 06:30

I'm relatively new so don't know what it was like before you feel it JTS.
What's made you think so?

AdoreTheBeach · 13/08/2019 06:33

Glad I’m not the only one who has never heard that phrase about the shark. OP - are you trying to start a new saying?

IF the shark thing is meant to be negative, Clearly YABU as you’re getting replies, people are reading your post and discussion (well, quite a few asking about the shark) so the page is still doing what it’s supposed to do.

Further YABU for not coming back and explain about the shark.

CoolWivesClub2019 · 13/08/2019 06:35

I’ve thought for a while that it’s going the same way as the Debates forum on Bounty went - yanbu.

If it gets to shit I might have to jump ship again and try Nethuns this time 🤷🏻‍♀️

feelingverylazytoday · 13/08/2019 06:35

No they haven't. Most forums are less popular than they used to be, and then there's the boredom factor. There are only so many things to talk about after all.

CoolWivesClub2019 · 13/08/2019 06:35

*too shit

ivykaty44 · 13/08/2019 06:36

There used to be some great discussions & some interesting links, much could be learnt and opinions changed. Haven’t seen threads of that caliber for a long time

AuntieStella · 13/08/2019 06:36

People have been shoehorning so much into AIBU (more so since 'chat' became permanent, rather than autodelete)

It's a pity, because the topics were such a brilliant resource - you could browse related threads so easily - and attracted considerable better (or better informed) comments, though may well, have been shorter threads.

AIBU jumped the shark years ago. I assume it's all creative writing, and have done for yonks

TheFatberg · 13/08/2019 06:36

Jumped the shark is a well known phrase if you care to Google it.
