TMI
And I'm posting here for traffic

But I had a copper coil fitting yesterday... the first one "slipped" so she had to insert another

And now I'm fairly sure I've got a bloody prolapse. I'm 28 fgs... is this normal, CAN this happen? Any experiences greatly appreciated

Best get myself off to the GP when I'm back from my weekend away. But ffs, why me BlushSad

I fee for you. I had my replaced....by a learner.....

I screamed before the old one had come out.

She wound one of my lips in the speculum twisty bit.

I think I scared the entire corridor of waiting patients.

Singlebutmarried · 08/08/2019 21:50

Also where did it slip to?

As in she missed so needed a fresh one or did you actually have to have the procedure twice. Cos if so.

Blimey you’re rock hard.

jmscp · 08/08/2019 21:51

@Singlebutmarried I had the procedure twice!! She had to go get a new one!! Angry

Singlebutmarried · 08/08/2019 21:51

Nooooooo

jmscp · 08/08/2019 21:52

She'd half taken the speculum out the first time then said oh dear it's slipped we'll need to do it again Sad

28 with a copper coil and prolapses here, although the coil didn’t cause them and am awaiting surgery to fix them.
I’m not sure how it could unless it was already going to happen. The woman, however, sounds like she is was inexperienced and it sounds like a traumatic fitting.

Mines didn’t go well either (shock) so you have my sympathies.

ToPlanZ · 08/08/2019 22:12

Had a removal and insertion 5 weeks ago. The removal was so bad I was screaming, apparently it kind of got stuck. Can't believe you had to have it done twice in a row, you're officially hard as nails!

Hope you get it resolved.

zeezee3 · 08/08/2019 22:13

Never had a coil EVER, and the amount of horror stories I have heard, means I never WILL have one.

Grim. AS. FUCK. Shock

Losinglola · 08/08/2019 22:13

Everything is really swollen down there for a few days afterwards. That's normal. You need to stop worrying and leave it about a week and then decide.

Your experience sounds horrific and things can go wrong, but it's too early to tell.

jmscp · 08/08/2019 22:18

Thanks so much for all the replies.

I don't get on with any hormonal contraceptives and thought this was it for me, nice simple solution.

My GP practice has only just started the coil fittings so I'm guessing the nurse may have been new to it.

Will leave it til next week and see how I go, but at the moment it feels like I've constantly got a tampon in too low and I've had a rummage Blush and I can feel something that wasn't there before and I can push back up AngrySad

thecatinthetwat · 08/08/2019 22:18

Omg, I should not have come on this thread.

I’ve just decided to have one and this has put me off completely. Can they cause a rolapse, wtf?

Hope you’re ok op Flowers

zeezee3 · 08/08/2019 22:31

@jmscp

Oh Gawd that sounds awful sorry OP! Sad

The feeling of a tampon being in too low/on its way to slipping out, is really weird and uncomfortable. But at least you can pull the tampon out!

Why do we women have to put up with so much shit? And why is it not taken very seriously?! This would not be tolerated if this was happening to men! Angry

jmscp · 08/08/2019 22:34

@zeezee3 hear hear. Men just don't understand the shite we have to go through. I'm sat here crying now thinking I've ruined my bloody vag forever.

I thought the 9lbs 4oz baby and the 3rd degree episiotomy would of done that but no, I heal from that fine, nearly two years on and a bloody coil fitting goes wrong.

I give up, becoming celibate instead Sad

OP posts:
MrsBlondie · 08/08/2019 22:36

That sounds like the coil isnt in correctly orcthe strings are too long.
Cooper coil here and csnt feel it

EL8888 · 08/08/2019 22:37

@zeezee3 totally this. No fucking way. If lm ever lucky enough to get pregnant then Mr EL8888 is getting neutered afterwards!

jmscp · 08/08/2019 22:37

@EL8888

Again sorry for tmi but it's definitely a "fleshy" bit I can feel... Blush

OP posts:
jmscp · 08/08/2019 22:39

@EL8888 and YES to the neutering of DP!!

I honestly am not sure if I even want another after my PSTD causing birth and now this. Sad

I'm booked in to the doctors next week to ask them to give me something to sort heavy periods. Have a feeling they'll suggest coil or mini pill. I will absolutely be refusing the coil after reading this.

Poor you op. It's shite. Hope you can get it sorted quickly Flowers

EL8888 · 08/08/2019 22:42

🙈🤮. I am a mental health nurse so my TMI ceiling is sky high! But yeah it’s a possibility

CurbsideProphet · 08/08/2019 22:46

I had cervical shock at the first attempt at fitting my second coil and it was horrific. Do you think that's happened to you? I could barely stand and didn't feel right for a couple of days. Hope you're feeling ok Gin

SirVixofVixHall · 08/08/2019 22:46

Could be swelling perhaps ? I hope so op, it doesn’t sound right. Can you get to see anyone before Monday ?

zeezee3 · 08/08/2019 22:54

Hope you are OK @jmscp Flowers I'm sure you are!!!

Can't see a coil causing a prolapse. (I hope I am right!)

@EL8888 Grin

cochineal7 · 08/08/2019 22:56

I have the reverse. Fitting went fine but now, 5 years down the line, they cannot get it out! Nurse tried first (with a hook) and couldn’t even find it. Referred to clinic where doctor had a go. She found it and got the threads but it’s stuck somewhere. Now booked in for the complex cases clinic. Wish I NEVER had one fitted. Will not get one again. DH will get the snip. Which is what we should have done 5 years ago.

Smoothoperator1 · 08/08/2019 22:59

Probably shouldn't have come on this thread as mine is getting fitted next week

Threeminis · 09/08/2019 01:01

I was booked to have mine removed yesterday - it can't be found. Referral sent to gynaecologist 🤦‍♀️
