Maybe the OP will come down to a wet kitchen floor this morning.

Can we please refer to the dog as ‘they’ and not ‘it’ please. A dog has more morals than most people on this earth, therefore they should be recognised as such. And for those who say ‘it’s just a dog’ you are just a twit :) kind of lighthearted

Op not a great set up you have here, the dog will go if they need to. The ex letting you down - they’re an ex! That’s what they do!

Ponoka7 · 05/08/2019 07:33

"It’s just a dog, not like it’s a child. Think you need to calm down."
"Some people (like me) prefer dogs to children!"

Yes but it's not like a dog will be emotionally damaged by having to 'go' on concrete, as opposed to grass. Unlike getting it wrong during toilet training.

OP, if this is the first time he's let you down, then that's always tough. It amplifies that you are alone.

Are you disabled or just working a lot? Either way, you'll find a solution to this.

Confused
Rivkka · 05/08/2019 10:07

I would have taken it for a walk with my child in the evening.

I think you may need to rethink being a dog owner tbh.

Why the name change?

RitaMills · 05/08/2019 10:10

Bloody hell, your dog hadn't been out since midday at the time of your OP?!

You should re-evaluate your suitability of dog ownership. That dog should have been taken out before your DC went to bed.

Whisky2014 · 05/08/2019 10:13

This dog does need rehomed. I can't believe any owner would be so stupid as to not even allowing it out for a quick pee ffs

MarthasGinYard · 05/08/2019 10:16

Poor dog

MarthasGinYard · 05/08/2019 10:16

Poor dog

LIZS · 05/08/2019 10:18

Why would you wait until 10pm to walk the dog? Poor thing suffers because it is not your turn Hmm

Sorry , mn telling me post failed and to retry

RatherBeRiding · 05/08/2019 10:30

Seriously why didn't you take the dog our earlier before DC went to bed? You sound like you can't really care for a dog I'm afraid.

In future, you need to find a way to care for the dog yourself as your ex obviously can't be arsed coming over to yours specifically to walk the poor dog.

PumpkinP · 05/08/2019 13:49

Some people (like me) prefer dogs to children! hmm

The point was clearly that a dog won’t be feeling “let down” as the op put it!! The ex doesn’t have any responsibility for the dog once they’ve broke up, unlike he would for the child. Think you also need to get a grip.
