Okay, i am slighlty hormonal at the moment but it cheesed me off. We were at a music and craft type group, and i put ds (11mths) on the floor whilst helping dd with some stapling. Ds started crying and some woman came over and picked him up. She then said "oh you want your mummy" to which i replied "I've just got 2 more staples to do". She then said "Why don't you take your child and i'll do that". You know when you think about it afterwards and wish you'd said something. I didn't ask her to pick up my child in the first place!

No, HG a rather large city in the Midlands. Of course I do encounter aggressive people - in some of the rougher parts of the city .

lol

Chasingsquirells - i don't view helping my dd with something as 'unimportant' and with two litle ones i can't always see to my 11mth old's 'loud protests' straight away.

sorry - I missed that you were doing it with dd - in fact i did think - wtf are you taking an 11mo to an arts and craft group for - so I appologise.

i think she was trying to help

i guess she picked up 11mth to be kind, then saw what you were doing, and then she offered to help with that instead

i think that sounds very nice really

i guess some people's tone of voice is a bit annoying - that trying to be over helpful voice - i think the intention was fine

i think you are a bit cross because you feel told off - i dont think you should feel told off - i think it was meant helpfully

anniebear · 31/07/2007 19:34

at the end of the day none of us were there to hear the tone in the ladies voice

it might have been said in an interferring way??

and if the OP hormones were on the go, well of course she is still going to be mulling it over now

When I have hormone rage I will mull for days!!!

anniebear · 31/07/2007 19:36

I would have been more inclined to have asked if you wanted me to help ur DD do some stapling, or just talked to your baby

I wouldnt have picked him up unless I knew you

BBBee · 31/07/2007 19:37

smile

she is a bit silly if she was making a point.

don't allow her to make a point by dwelling on it.

So bloody what eh?
