Builders fucking radio

As if all the grinding and banging and digging and clanging isn't bad enough - fair enough, part of the build - it's the bloody radio that is a total assault.

Surely there should be a fucking law against it. Noise or something.

AIBU?

Of course I've spoken to them! Nicely, kindly, friendly. I'm not an idiot.

You didn't mention this either. How do you expect us to help if you don't tell us the whole story. You didn't say it was loud and you didn't mention that you had asked them to turn it down. Did they refuse? What did they say when you asked them to keep the noise down?

springydaff · 24/07/2019 13:11

Head. You are not busy enough my dear.

@springydaff
They're probably playing it excessively loud to try and drown out your incessant, unreasonable moaning.

OoohOnly90CaloriesIllhave10 · 24/07/2019 13:45

Hey OP, do you reckon all the posters giving you grief would also be absolutely fine with being on public transport next to someone blaring music so loud out their headphones that they may as well have it on speakers?

Or do you reckon the tables would turn and they wouldn't enjoy that so much?

No ones entitled to silence. Apparently Hmm

thedayofthethreeMagnums · 24/07/2019 13:46

sometimes it's like a playground on here. Seriously MelonSlice? How old are you.

OoohOnly90CaloriesIllhave10 · 24/07/2019 13:53

Or sitting in the coffee shop with several teens playing things like TikTok on their phones.

You're not entitled to silence, people!

OoohOnly90CaloriesIllhave10 · 24/07/2019 13:54

Or a car parked outside their house, windows down blaring out Eminem.

They would be fine with all those examples because they would be miserable to suggest otherwise and they aren't entitled to silence.
Their words.

I agree totally, I had last summer spoilt by a very loud radio on all day from builders a couple of doors down, I very politely asked for it to be turned down. It was ignored and when I asked again the builder got nasty. Next door are having building work done next year and I'm seriously going to take action if it happens again!

Elsewyre · 01/10/2020 10:42

@springydaff

Would it be reasonable to ask for no radio ever? Off for good?

Don't want to jeopardise relationship with neighbours who are absolutely lovely. But revolting neighbours other side with equally revolting builders put me through hell with endless fucking screamy thumpy radio. Police involvement in the end I'm afraid to say - being reasonable just didn't work.

So instead of saying "please turn it down" I could say "please turn it off"?

Close the windows ask them to turn it down a bit so you cant here it inside.

Its hardly the hight of summer where you need them open.
