Toddler licked dog poo

Aibu to be worried that my toddler just picked up dog poo and licked it?

They are my dogs wormed regularly, I cleaned his face, hands, and made him drink water.

It happened so quickly.

If they’re wormed regularly it should be ok.

HJWT · 18/07/2019 16:16

Keep making him drink water!

fruitbrewhaha · 18/07/2019 16:17

oh god, put him up for adoption.

Phimma · 18/07/2019 16:31

He’ll be fine, as a two year old my som had a ‘slight’ cat litter eating incident, he survived and I get to tell everyone he ate cat littler/possibly cat shit when he’s older.

McShakey · 18/07/2019 16:34

He’ll be fine, my aunt did this as a toddler and she’s lived to tell the tale.

If it makes you feel better, mine ate a seagull shit.

Itsreallymehonest · 18/07/2019 16:40

I caught my toddler - now 11yo dipping his biscuit into cow pee on our farm. He now has the strongest immune system of anyone I know! Smile

HeadintheiClouds · 18/07/2019 16:41

Toddlers are grim 🤢

Ohyesiam · 18/07/2019 16:42

Just remember it for the wedding speeches.

Opossooom · 18/07/2019 16:43

@fruitbrewhaha Hahahaha! I am actually laughing! Brilliant

thetwinkles · 18/07/2019 16:44

Mine ate horse shit!

ChocoholicsAsylum · 18/07/2019 16:46

Id have scrubbed his tongue with a toothbrush, paste and mouthwash jeezo! And then binned said toothbrush. Quite a nightmare Blush the things kids do eh.

ChocoholicsAsylum · 18/07/2019 16:47

I burst out laughing at the horse shit comment there omg!

HeadintheiClouds · 18/07/2019 16:47

Horse shit is actually fine. Relatively... It doesn’t have the sort of bacteria that cat and dog shit does.

Minai · 18/07/2019 16:48

I caught mine today scraping off and eating dried bird shit off a pipe. Toddlers are grim. When I said ‘oh no what are you eating?’ he just said ‘yum’ Envy

Soubriquet · 18/07/2019 16:51

And I thought my cousin licking a snail when she was a toddler was bad

That’s quite a delicacy, isn’t it? Shame it was raw Grin

TheInebriati · 18/07/2019 16:56

Went to visit a friend and found DS in the kitchen face down in a plate of cat food with 2 handfuls of cat food Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 18/07/2019 16:57

My Dd ate her own poo, I'm not sure if that's better or worse Confused

GummyGoddess · 18/07/2019 16:59

Mine ate chicken poo. Was furious I took it away from him.

Both my children have amazing immune systems! Worst they get is a slightly snotty nose.

HeadintheiClouds · 18/07/2019 17:09

It’s the whole basis of immunisation, isn’t it? Introduce a small amount of toxins into the body to build up resistance. And we panic if they eat a biscuit off the floor 😆

HopelessLayout · 18/07/2019 17:13

My niece found a used plaster on the floor at the supermarket and licked it. She's now 17 so survived to tell the tale. Grim though.

GrimDamnFanjo · 18/07/2019 17:19

In all honesty I'd just get some reassurance that there's no risk of anything nasty being transmitted like parasites.
