@MNHQ have commented on another thread to say it's a mistake and the ads weren't meant to go live to logged on users apparently. They've sorted it for now.

Its also makes it very difficult to secretly be on MN at work when a great big yellow bird flies at the screen..

I don't know what it was for but I kept seeing an ad earlier that was flashing - font & colours. Could've triggered a migraine or eplieptic fit, so bad call on that one.
